View Full Version : HELP!!! Suggestions Needed
Hey everyone, I need your help.
One week from tomorrow is my 10th anniversary. I have been in every shop in the mall and have no idea what to get for my husband. I know that the 10th anniversary is: Traditional - aluminum or tin, and Modern - diamond jewelry.
The only jewelry that Greg will wear is his wedding ring, watch, and the Orthodox Cross necklace I bought him for his birthday. Any other jewelry is out of the question. He has had his watch for only a couple of years and it still looks relatively new.
HELP!! I'm getting desperate!
BrandyBlue 7-08-03, 11:07 AM I would say that if the traditional isn't working, then go for something else. Is he really into his car? Does he collect anything?
Hmmm, he has been wanting to put a CD player in his vehicle. That's an idea. :) Thanks.
LOSTNTHE80S 7-08-03, 11:19 AM *Jen....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Joe and I just celebrated our 10th June 26th. :)
We don't usually buy gifts for each other. We spend special time together. (this year, we spent the day with the kids ) *WARNING..THE FOLLOWING IS FROM A HOPELESS ROMANTIC LOL! Sit down and write him a letter... express your feelings, how you felt when you first met, as your relationship grew, the changes that you both have faced through these years together, what you hope for the future, etc.....
I did that a few years ago .... once I started writing, I couldn't stop. When Joe read it, he had tears in his eyes.
I hope you have a wonderful day together and enjoy many more years of love, luck, & happiness. :)
Jughead Jones 7-08-03, 12:06 PM I agree with the person who suggested that you should buy stuff for his car.
While I'm not married, nor do I have an anniversary, I think I'd be one to avoid tradition. Instead, maybe you should get a gift that you can both enjoy, like a Blockbuster gift card, or reservations at a hotel for a romantic weekend or something like that.
Of course, if you are gung-ho about tradition, you could always get him a case of beer...beer cans are aluminum, aren't they? :D
Good luck!
Caligula 7-08-03, 12:27 PM Big screen TV or 14 carat gold cockring
Wow, Jana.....what a great suggestion. Very romantic. :)
Heheh, Jughead beer, eh? We do romantic getaways pretty regularly now that the kids are old enough to be left alone for a couple of days.
Cal, the t.v. is a viable idea, but the cockring?
Thanks sooo much for the suggestions, y'all. :)
cultleader 7-08-03, 01:15 PM 2 words...ALUMINUM SIDING!guys love aluminum siding!!:D :D
LOSTNTHE80S 7-08-03, 03:06 PM GUYS! LOL!!!!!
Yow know that March 20 is the day for THAT! ;)
Jen..what are we going to do with them? :)
I think we should hang them up by their toes in the West Virginia wilderness and cover their naked bodies with honey. :thumb:
LOSTNTHE80S 7-08-03, 04:37 PM LOL!! Or spray them with some of that "Doe scent" that Joe uses during hunting season...:)

Uh..Culty, that good ol boy Cletus is the one bringin the honey! ;)
Jen...another idea is get him a new g-string..that way he'll look good while serving YOU breakfast in bed (can't wait to hear the guys on this one! )
ImSoooSure 7-09-03, 03:20 AM WARNING This idea takes time. But, if you have it, it might be neat to make him a photo album. Go in chronilogical order from the begining of your relationship til now. Get a nice leather one and have the date engraved. If you're like a lot of people all the pictures just go into big boxes and aren't appreciated. ;)
I don't know what to tell you but I would say, blitz has some good suggestions. :) But I would throw in the cockring . :D
RetroMan 7-09-03, 08:02 AM HAPPY ANNIVERSARY *jen!

thought I heard something about a "purty mouth..."
I still think steak and bj are the way to a mans heart!
Wow, you guys have offered some great suggestions. Lisa, I like your idea, I'll have to go through my box (EDIT: of pictures) and see what I've got.
Jasper, I'm positive that Greg would agree with you. :bigeek:
However, he doesn't get to pick the gift!! :p
Darkmatter 7-09-03, 01:12 PM Steak and BJ?
That would get my vote! Way to remember an old thread! :thumb:

Uh Oh Jen...better edit that post before the birthday boy comes along and tells you to save that kind of talk for the Love Lounge!
Buy yourself a French Maid uniform, a feather duster, a cheap set of sheets, and some silk scarves. Oh, and tell the kids to get lost. Serve him his steak in the kitchen, then take the chocolate, strawberries, whipped cream to the bedroom. USE the feather duster, too. He may get dusty while you're tying him up with those scarves...:naughty:
:o
I like this suggestion best. :D
Oh, and ALL 3 kids are out of town. :D :D :D
LOSTNTHE80S 7-09-03, 07:28 PM Ok..so the NOISE won't be a problem! (Except for maybe with the neighbours? ;) )
Hey All!
I finally figured out what to get Greg. :) He's been wanting a CD player for his truck for ages. I went to Circuit City and picked up a really nice Pioneer for a great price and installation was included. I wrapped it up nicely and gave it to him this morning. He was very happy. Then I took the truck and had it installed. I bought him a new Dave Matthews CD so he'll have something to listen to. :D
Very successful gift giving. ;)
LOSTNTHE80S 7-16-03, 01:01 PM HAPPY ANNIVERSERY JEN & GREG! :)
