View Full Version : Oh man...this poor kid! Pagan 7-07-03, 10:47 AM Baby Born with 4 legs, 3 hands and 3 kidneys.... (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/030703/170/4kudf.html) LOSTNTHE80S 7-07-03, 11:27 AM Things like this can occur..it's such a shame. Maybe they can do a type of surgery. The xchangers probably didn't notice when we met, but I have a little bump on my left ear..when I was born, there was a partial extra ear. They removed it and there is just a little place where you can feel a tiny bone or part of cartilidge. Brand1974 7-07-03, 02:13 PM That's awful!!! Jana, I never knew that could occur. LOSTNTHE80S 7-07-03, 07:53 PM I personally know of 2 families here in town who's children was born with both kinds of sex organs.. (I am totally serious here). One is being raised as a boy..he is fine and they named him Seth..he's about 13 now (?) The other is Brandy..she needs total care. About my "extra ear"..:) I tell the kids to behave because I can hear what they are up to even if I'm in town! LOL!!! :) It's not a bother...if I press on it, it hurts, but it always has and I'm used to it. I really feel for this child..and the parents. Imagine waiting for your baby only to discover this. It's a shame that the technology didn't discover this sooner. More than likely, she didn't have the sonograms, etc.. that we have the advantage of having. At least this way, they could have been a little prepared for it. Shakey 7-07-03, 08:09 PM That truly is sad. I hope that they can do something for a situation such as that. RetroMan 7-07-03, 08:18 PM I saw this on the news - it's good to know that the baby willl live a normal life after the operation, but there always seems to be a 50/50 chance of survival during such a complex procedure. You would think it would be impossible, but they usually import all the big gun surgeons in to carry it out with success Jana Wrote: About my "extra ear" I tell the kids to behave because I can hear what they are up to even if I'm in town! LOL!!! Jana, I think that is neat when you can make a little joke about yourself like that - it shows that you accept that's how you are. I once heard a story of some guy who pulled out his glass eye and dropped it into his mate's beer at the pub! abcmcd 7-07-03, 10:04 PM Whoa. I bet that was a surprise. He looks like a happy little dude 'tho. They do such amazing work separating conjoined twins nowadays I'd think they could do some surgery and get him straightened out pretty well. The docs only have to worry about preserving one life since the other one never fully developed. JustRockin2 7-07-03, 10:20 PM OMG! That is really strange...wow! I guess you count your blessings, when you see something like this. I feel sorry for the kid. I never knew what it was so it really never bothered me. It's such a little thing..about half the size of my pin ky fingernail ( and that's small ) :) BrandyBlue 7-07-03, 10:57 PM That poor kiddo. I hope this doesn't have to affect him all of his life. ValJ 7-07-03, 11:29 PM How traumatic it must have been for his parents! And the worst hasn't even begun for that poor little baby. :( Sarg 7-08-03, 12:18 AM That poor baby, and I feel sorry for the parents even more because after the surgery is done and after the kid grows up he may never not believe it himself if they show him pictures like that of himself. |
