I've been recently talking to a booking agent in MA, who just so happens to also be Wiccan and wants to book Livesay. Well.....I got an email from her last Monday that read:

Just wondering....We need a band for the 4th Friday nite from 10:45 til 1 a.m.

This is the deal we will cover gas $$ drinks and also give you a guest house to stay at on a private island. If you guys want you can stay the weekend too... Let me know if you think its something you can or want to do and if you guys are good I can hook you up on that Rock4Xmas tour and book you at various other clubs around here and Hollywood. Think of it as an audition...I also will announce you on the radio for Friday so you get free airtime promotions around the area....Let me Know ASAP!!!!

Well....since we haven't replaced Taz yet I obviously couldn't accept the gig, so we had to decline. She responded with:

Hey no problem....I am booking new talents there at the club and setting up a Hollywood nite type thing there. This 4th was sprung on me to get someone without advance notice, which I usually give, because of who is going to be there. Its too bad you couldnt be there we have a few special guests going to be there... It's hush hush here but the guys from Metallica will be there...this is shhhhhhhhh...between us please.

Nice huh? Missed out on a chance to open for Metallica. :grrr: Even though I can't stand them, you know the place was probably JAM packed, and there were also probably industry people there. DAMN!!!!

The good thing is she has a few shows for us in MA in August, so we should have someone by then.

Damn....we need a drummer FAST.

yes! I say beat him sensless with a 10" gong (...a little private joke there, Taz knows what I mean ;) )

It sound's like this lady is certainly a good person to know Pagan, I'm sure more opportunities are waiting in the wings. Did Metallica actually show though? do you know?

I'd still feel that there was an opportunity there for Livesay, although you will need a drummer... and quickly.

Actually, the deal sounded a little too good to be true. It's a shame that you weren't able to take a chance on it though. But... maybe it wasn't meant to be for some reason. Livesay will find a replacement soon (not to be putting any blame at all on Tim, ok? ) and perhaps a better offer will come your way.

I jst want to say - so no one in here gets the wrong idea - that this is in no way meant to make it seem like this is Tim's fault. He has his reasons for leaving and I respect them. It was just meant to show how the music biz can't bite you in the ass. ;)

And Jana....stop being so cynical. :p

The woman has connections up the ying-yang, and Metallica are known to do little surprise club shows every now and then.

Sorry you weren't able to do this show!! That really sucks. Sure something good will come up soon for you that you can accept sweetie.

Look at it this way, maybe there is going to be something even better that is going to come along for you. I know you will find a drummer soon. Who could pass up playing with your band? ;)

That totally suck, but I have a strong feeling something very good is coming up for Livesay. And if you're in MA in August I'll see when I'm coming up and see if I can go to your gig (if my Mom and family care).

My friend Ray is a great drummer, but he plays in two bands, and lives here in Ohio. He is a Nicko McBrain clone...every time he sees me, he wants to jam some Maiden.

I'm sorry to hear all that fell through! At least you have that woman for contacts. Not many good drummers in your area, huh? Hang in there, you'll find one!!

That would have been quite the opportunity!!! Maybe you know someone willing to fill-in for gigs until you can find a full timer? What about the gravy sweater?

It's a shame you could grab the bull by the horns on this gig, but I'm sure something else will be offered to Livesay and hopefully you get another drummer in place soon, buddy.

Pagan, man...dude, brother!!!! that's like taking a shot of gasoline and chasing it with a match. Sory to hear this! MeatLicka or not a room on a private island, free beer, more gigs, $$$$$$ too. OK' I'll stop!

Ya know what MeatLicka would of been kick ass to meet that night and maybe they would of jamed and sounded good doing it knowing MTV's cameras wern't rolling. OH well, there's alway's next time, Right????

Oh bummer Pagan! Can't really think of anything to say to make you feel better either. That just plain old sucks! I'm sure she'll have something else lined up for you when you have your drummer again. :rockband:
