I'm sure that a few people on here have seen "The Gods Must Be Crazy", the African import of the early 80s about a Coke bottle that falls from the sky into the midst of an African tribe.
The movie starred an African actor named N!xau (a very interesting name), who would star in several more of these movies over the course of the next 2 decades.
Well, on July 1st this past week, his time was up. He died.

Wow, that's so sad to hear. I love "The Gods Must be Crazy". It's a very entertaining movie. I'll have to see if my mom still has a copy of it, and I'll have to watch it again in his memory. :(
:( Thanks for posting this John. The Gods Must Be Crazy is one of my favorite movies. Sorry to hear N!xau is not with us anymore. He was extremely entertaining.

That movie was hilarious! I remember we got to watch it in High School once too...think it was English class of all classes :lol:

I remember that movie. It was such a trip. Very sad news about Xau. It's neat that he can be remembered for such an interesting movie.

Sad. I didn't know he made so many other movies. I going to see if there any of Nixau's movies on DVD.

I used to watch this film all the time when I went to visit my Uncle who lived up in the hills. He had it on BETAmax (how 80's is that!!)
N!xau is probably one of the most interesting names I've seen, but then again, so was their language - all those clicks and pops when they talked!
It's good that you posted this up OPC because it would be a shame if the guy passed unnoticed - the film is also relevant to the 80s

I really enjoyed The Gods Must Be Crazy. So sad to hear of the lead actor's death... :(
Would you believe Nixau was involved in at least three Gods Must be Crazy sequals? Most of them were made in Hong Kong. These are the names of the ones we have here on video in New Zealand.
The Golds must be crazy 2 (Which is pretty good)
Crazy Hong Kong (Not too bad)
Crazy Safari (Unbelievably bad)
I think there may be another one too, but I haven't seen it
