I'd like to offer a suggestion for a new category on this forum, titled "80's science and technology". This is a major interest of mine, and none of the current forums really fit this area.

This will give us a place to discuss events relating to computers (Commodore 64, Apple II, Tandy, etc.), advances in space exploration (Space shuttle, Voyager spacecraft), plus a variety of other subjects such as automobiles, telecommunications, and medicine.

Sounds good, but in order for anything to be made, I need to see a strong show of support. And by support I mean a lot of members who will be willing to contribute to the area fairly regularly.

Since we have 55 forums here already (not counting hidden areas), I have to be extremely picky as to any new forum possibilities. That said, if the idea passes, it'll probably be a sub-forum...at least at first. Under what, I'm not 100% sure, but I really don't wanna overinflate the main index...I've been trying to condense it for months! :lol:
