Morten’s own bread in production

When Morten is travelling, there is one thing he always brings – bread. Not just any kind of bread, but the bread he says he can’t live without; his girlfriend Anne Mette’s home made bread. Now Morten is thinking about the possibilities of producing and selling this bread on a larger scale.

Anne Mette’s bread is made without wheat; she uses spelt flour, which Morten calls “the original flour” and the dough has to rise three times.

The Norwegian newspaper VG has published an article about Morten’s bread plans. “The way this bread is made is the result of many funny experiments,” Morten tells VG. “The need was to find a simple and good bread that could serve as a basis in any meal,” he says, “and that is simply Anne Mette’s spelt bread.”

Morten has not eaten wheat or potatoes since the recording of the ‘Summer Moved On’ video four years ago. “The effect of not eating wheat was very explicit,” he says. “I had felt slack and sleepy a lot. I thought it was stress, but I didn’t think about my diet.” One of Norway’s largest bakeries contacted Morten after reading about the bread that Morten brought with him on tour. And soon we all might have a taste of Morten and Anne Mette’s bread.
