Time for the XFFL 2003 Summer meetings. :lol: Seriously, I'm working on some serious upgrades for the league & website this season, and I need a headcount and we need to vote on some stuff.

Seems like we'll have everyone back from last year, and at least two more players want to join (Jessica T. and Greenway). I can see us expanding up to 16 teams (so we'd need 5 more teams)before a split needs to be made. This is going to be an awesome year, and I'm tired of waiting! :D So lets get started!!

First off: Anyone interested in joining the league contact me at once! The league is open to any Xchange member, so noone should be turned away.

Second: We need to vote on some changes in the league. I'm going to do this in a thread were each person responds yea or nay to all votes in one post. (too many questions for a poll). Only current or confirmed new members can vote, but since it's easy as can be to join, that could be everyone! :)

Now all XFFL members and applicants check in here so we can get down to business.:cool: As a sneak peek of things to come, I've attached our new XFFL logo.

I might get in too. I am in quite a few things for football, and was in so many last year that I didn't get into this one.

Buc are you worried that 16 teams may spread the talent too thin?

It will definately thin out the positions, but it should make some interesting drafting and some longshots and surprises taken. all in all i'm in favor of more teams,

It will make for some interesting challanges but it will also make it more dificult for the members who are not totally into fantasy football and who do not know how to utilize the waiver wire. I am worried that someone is going to get a rough team and give up after the first few weeks. More teams can be good but 16 is stretching it a little. Even for a very serious league 16 is still a stretch. Just my opinion.

Well, 16 is max for sure. 14 would be harder to manage but doable, but 12 would be ok. Bottom line is, we HAVE to have an even number this year if at all possible.

But the fun doesn't have to stop there. We could have a second league, maybe for less experienced players: XFFL2, if you will (like Arena football has AF2). We could even have relegation like soccer where teams are moved up or down based on performance. Just throwing out ideas.

Now where is the rest of the gang from last year? Someone tell Taz & Prefab to get in here! :lol: Also, if anyone has some ideas we haven't discussed yet, please let's hear them. So far we've talked about:
*Changes to scoring system (with fractional points)
*# of expansion teams in XFFL
*Protected players from last year
*Going to a pay league
*changing TE to WR/TE

Anything else? We'll vote once everyone has checked in.

What about expanding team defenses to team defensive players with points for tackles, assists, Sacks and passes deflected? Could add more of a challenge?

not sure how you have your league set up but im all for indivdual pts for players on defense rather than team defensive pt scoring.

(may be start a second pay league if there is enough interest, just as long as we can also play in the non pay league)

Cal had a great idea, who (owners or newbies) would be interested in a separate pay league (like the one LostBoy suggested at myfantasyleague.com.) Unfortunately guys, if it becomes a pay league I won't be able to participate. I have enough money flying out my ass these days trying to do things for the house, and I just talked my wife into getting Direct TV so I can get the NFL Sunday Ticket. If I tell her I'm joining a pay fantasy league, I'll be sleeping in that dish instead of my bed! :lol:

Actually, Pagan, the way I took Cal's idea was to leave the current league the way it is, and to add a pay league for those who wanted it. The wife & I are currently doing some remodeling of the Buc house, so I 'm with you on the money issue!

Yes thats what I meant. Leave the xchange league the way it is Free, I wouldn't want to lose anyone because its a pay league, it's too much fun. But if there is enough interest maybe a second pay league could be set up for people who want to pay.

But even the ones who play in the pay league can still play in the free one

Buc and anybody else who is interested I set up a league for my friends from college. We have had a league for the last five years and this will be our second year using myfantasyleague.com. For our tem teams it costs us a total of $6.00 a person and we have much more flexibility and control over the league. I have been working on my league for the last few days and it is almost finished. It is not free but it really is not as costly as you might think. With 12 teams it is $ 5.00 a team. Just an idea but let me know what you think.
