Since I'm thinking of moving, I'm trying to sell some of my stuff, but I really don't want to use eBay and Half.com, because of the shipping costs and packaging. Also, I'd like to keep my sales local, and I'm looking for a flea market/yard sale to go to. The only problem is most flea markets charge you, and right now I don't have the moeny for it. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do?

There is always the consignment route--they still charge but only after a sale is made--you just have to mark your stuff up enough to make money.

If you can't sell it, consider making a donation of it and taking the tax deduction for it

Well, I know of an online auction place you can try other than eBay and Half.com. It's called Bentmonkey (no, I'm not kidding) It's free to post anything up on there for sale, and you don't have to pay for anything.

Bent Monkey Auctions (http://www.bentmonkey.com)

Why would shipping costs on ebay hurt? You can more than make up for the time it takes you to package the items and pay for shipping in what you charge them. It can be time consuming though.
Quit a few years back someone I knew had one of those neighborhood yard sales. They let me put a ton of my stuff in it for a portion of the sales. It worked great for me cause I didnt have to spend my day running a yard sale.
