Ok, who else loved this show?? I have a million tapes of it, because I worshiped this guy on there, Chris Tully. It was so cheesy, yet so totally eighties!! The music on there was the best! I still listen to it. Are there any other self proclaimed DPUSA fans that will admit it out there? ;)

Two of my classmates from high school were at it, and there was a guy on there I had a MAJOR crush on it, and his girlfriend was great. I even wrote to his girlfriend because I was a fan of hers. I believe Kelly Rippa was one of the regulars on the show.

I remember that show

My friends and I used to watch it to see Joe White - the guy with the long hair !!!!

I was a fan of DPUSA as well. It was the ultimate in cheezy 80s-style fun and couldn't hold a candle to the more venerable American Bandstand, but I still watched it to catch the latest dance moves, cool fashion trends and pop music! :thumb:

LOVED this show when I was 13-15 or so (1987ish-1989ish). You don't even wanna know how much! LOL Two of my friends traveled down to be on the show one summer. I was so bummed that I didn't get to go (I had even had a special t-shirt made in case I did, god this is embarassing!)... :6ohboy: :D

...I had a HUGE crush on Jason Pascoe (sp?). I actually wrote to him once and got an autographed picture back in the mail. Too funny. I still can't believe I am admitting this!

...and Jessica - Joe was really cool. He was one of Jason's friends. The one true long-haired rocker on the show! :thumb:

I, too, have about a trillion videotapes of this show. Classic stuff to haul out and watch once in a while. I have some classic Kelly Ripa footage (bad lip synchs and bad rapping). Ahhh...good stuff!

Suzi and Samboragirl, you should sell copies of your videotapes from DPUSA on eBay. I think I would buy a copy or two! :thumb:

Uh uh...can't sell homemade videos on Ebay. It's illegal ..

:) Just thought I'd let you know before you listed them :)

But that'd be great to be able to watch those again.

That and the DPUSA lawyers are FANATICAL about hunting people down. My boyfriend and I are making an 80s tribute site and we had 3 pictures from DPUSA on there (2 were actually from posters they gave away). We are not finished with the site so we don't check the site's e-mail very often (no one writes us yet) - one day our site was taken down because we hadn't responded to their e-mail in 3 days. It took begging with Angelfire to put our site back up so we didn't lose 6 months of work. We then deleted the pictures. Those lawyers from DPUSA are crazy. There'd probably be a public hanging if you sold tapes on ebay!

80sTrivia - if I ever go through my tapes and they are good enough to copy, maybe I can work something out for you, though. :)

Yikes! Didn't realize selling bootlegged copies of a long-defunct television show was verboten on eBay! If you ever make a good copy of the show Sambora, I'd be interested. Just don't let the show's lawyers know about it! ;)

I'd love to see if anyone has the eps with Theresa Kemp and Debbie Riley (my classmates). They were on camera a few times. They were asked their ages and names. And I also remember Princess.

Yeah, that sucks that there are Dance Party Nazis out there trying to ruin all our fun! But, there are always loopholes ;) I am in contact regularly with one of the "dance regulars" from the show. I can ask him about those people you mentioned, but they don't sound familiar to me. By the way, anyone interested in Princess can go to her website - "www.heatherday.com" She is a fitness guru now, and married. Later!

I just thought of this show. I have a coworker named Jimmy and for some reason I called him "Jimmy Jam". Then, the image of Jimmy Jam popped in my head. He was the skinny kid with glasses on Dance Party USA. I used to watch this show religiously. I used to know who most of the regulars were, but now I can only think of Jimmy Jam, and the blonde haired girl named Princess, who was in love with Prince. :lol Was anybody else a Dance Party USA fan?

It's so funny that people remember so many of the regulars! I vaguely remember the show, but I can tell you one thing.....if anyone is interested in knowing what Joe White is up to these days, let me know. I have all the details on him. ;)

There is a whole chat site where many of the regulars and guests post as well as pictures, behind the scenes gossip, etc.

You can check it out here at Dance Party USA @ YahooGroups (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DancePartyUSA/). Suzi!! Glad to see you here!

Dance Party USA was a great dance show of the 80's! It was so late 80's. I started watching shows during late 1988 and early 1991 . But I didn't watch it all the time. So I did miss out on a lot of shows. It will be great if they release it on DVD or something I will buy it.

I watched this song even when it was "Dancin' on Air". It was shot in Philadelphia - my hometown! I loved it!
