Due to the mixed feelings about this area, something obviously gotta be done. I don't want to remove it since there are quite a few who enjoy having that forum available. On the other hand, there are others who aren't comfortable and are even taking it as far as leaving...which I can't stand seeing...

The idea to make the war forum like the LL was brought up when the we were discussing bringing this forum back and brought up again by Cal recently, but I opted not to at first as I couldn't figure an easy way to go about it due to the weird way this forum system handles permissions and usergroup settings.

I have thought of a way to make it work though (don't I always? :lol:;)). It'll take a bit of doing to do, but if it'll relieve the insanity around here, I'll get it done.

So if you want access to the war forum, just vote on the poll...there's only one option. I'm doing the poll so I get all the names in one convenient list so I don't have to go through the whole thread if it gets too long :p If for some reason polls don't work for ya, just post your 'yes' vote :)

Please be honest with yourself before posting a yes vote. If you get aggrivated by things posted in there, don't opt for access just because you're curious about what's being said. Vote a yes if you're interested in the things being discussed in there and can handle what's being said without getting bent out of shape.

Mods....you need not vote on this one...you get access whether you like it or not...comes with the territory...:lol::p

Yep I voted yes, you may wish to name it something other than the Iraq file, as when this dies down, there may be other controversial subjects that need discussed

Yes Ophelia...you can opt in or out of this war forum at any time :) Once I get this whole thing together, it'll be an easy move back and forth :)

Yes I'd like access. I like to be among friends to discuss controversial subjects like the war. I think it's a good outlet to get more info and learn people's views.

Though I don't post there often, I do want access to the war forum - thanks for the option, Roemy!

It's not that much work....the only real tasking part of it was setting up new usergroups and doing permission checks...that only ended up taking about 20 minutes, so it wasn't so bad :) Setting someone up with access takes 2 seconds :)

It had to be done...and actually only 19 people have opted for access (I don't count mods since they have access anyway :p)
