View Full Version : Grease Cards
Dancingdoll1986 4-06-03, 02:27 PM Last weekend, my 'rents were cleaning out the attic again, and they put together boxes for us kids of all of our stuff. (Like our Kindergarten work, progress and report cards...baby books.) I was kind of bummed when I didn't see my Grease trading cards. I figured that they must have gotten thrown out. :(
My mom called a couple of days later to tell me she found the best thing on eBay. The complete collection of the Grease cards!! The woman who sold them to her apologized that they weren't mint, but please, like my collection was!! (Sarcasm!!)
I was SOOOO excited that she did that for me!! After all, Grease IS the word!!!
djdaffy1227 4-06-03, 03:26 PM I have the complete pink series of cards. I believe there was a green (?) series as well. I used to collect non-sports cards in the late 70's early 80's.
BlueMolly2001 4-06-03, 03:39 PM I have a few of the Grease cards, but I have no idea where they are. I also have Happy Days, Welcome Back, Kotter, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: The Movie (yes, they had trading cards) and Rock Stars collection (which I have all the cards).
LOSTNTHE80S 4-06-03, 04:00 PM Hmm...I had forgotten about those. I know that a friend of mine had the entire collection of the SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN cards (her dad looked like Lee Majors in fact..and still does) Weren't there STARSKY AND HUTCH ones too?
ImSoooSure 4-14-03, 03:13 AM Oh, I had a few of those too. Thats so cool your mom got you the set on ebay. I love anything that has to do with Grease. I still have a bunch of my KISS, Barbie and Charlies Angels cards too.
Cool, DD! :) :) That was so nice of your mom.
I collected the Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi cards when I was a kid - sadly, I peeled most of the stickers off them and stuck them on my walls, furniture, what have you :dammit: They were fun, and sometimes contained movie spoilers - oooooo! :D
Opheliarose 4-14-03, 07:06 PM OMG!!! I forgot about these, I had the whole collection, they came with this Yucky Hard gum! That is so cool that your Mom did that for you!! Sounds like something my mom would do for me!! :)
Dancingdoll1986 4-14-03, 07:17 PM I finally got them!!!
They are so cool. The woman who sent them, sent them in plastic sleeves.
There were only 66 cards...I always thought that there were more. I also got the aqua stickers that were part of the set. I took them out of the sleeves so that I could do the puzzle that was printed on the other sides. (Remember the puzzle?!?!?) Heehee...fun!!!
80sTrivia 4-21-03, 06:39 AM I didn't have the Grease cards, but I did collect Star Wars cards. I found a box of them a few years back, along with a series of Gremlins cards, complete with the break-your-teeth-hard gum!
Blitzburgh87 5-20-03, 09:15 PM that is cool, i have a few of them around still as well. i aslo have the battlestar cards and a few others. ofcourse my most valuable cards got thrown away!! (baseball) i know im not the only person who had that happen. i still have some but im sure i lost a small fortune. more imporantly i still have my charlies angels cards!! :)
Ladyofthe80s 5-20-03, 10:51 PM I was just thinking about those the other day. Actually I was wondering how many other people subconsciously visualize their archetypal soulmate based on the romance of Danny Zuko and Sandy whatever her name is? What is it anyway?
But I used to love collecting them. I remember some of them having pink borders? but mostly green. I had Charlie's Angels and Star Wars cards, and for some reason I remember having some type of Fonzie card.
I think I remember throwing my Grease cards out (I can't believe I did that, but I may have) but I'm going to visit my mom in a week and I'm hoping to find all sorts of fun stuff in storage.
