My new internet "radio" show, Erik's Metal Shop, is now up and running at www.hitekradio.com (http://www.hitekradio.com) - it's a pretty good mix of Hard Rock and straight ahead Metal. Probably 75% of it will be 80's bands (their 80's or 90's material).

I need some feedback on sound quality, playlist, and whether or not everything on the site is working correctly.

You can click on each show (there are two up right now) on either Real Player or Windows Media (the Real Player version seems to sound better) - if you click on that (and if your computer is like mine) the entire show will download into your Real Player's temporary files and play the whole thing without any buffering problems. Cool. The downside is that it can take a while for a 56K modem to download it, so you may want to try to log on directly for streaming audio.

To do that just pull up your real player and put this address in http://www.hitekradio.com/eriks1slow.rm (don't click on the link - you have to log on your Real Player and then use that address).

That's show #1 for 56K connections, I've also got show #1 for cable/dsl, just put eriks1fast.rm at the end. Show 2 is the same address, with eriks2slow.rm and eriks2fast.rm.

Like I said, you can just click on the show and download the temporary files to avoid buffering. If you've got cable or dsl it should be fairly quick to download (of course, if you've got cable or dsl you probably don't have buffering problems - it is an advantage for dial-up users, though, to avoid buffering).

I need your feedback, so please give the show a listen and let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance!

I'm also planning on playing one request per show. I'm planning on two shows per week. Hopefully that will work out....

If you've got a request, post it here or send me a message. I will also have an e-mail address soon for the show.

Show #3 will feature a VERY rare Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhoads song, and it will be posted on the website next week (week of 6/10-6/16) sometime.

This is a show by the fans, for the fans - NOT for money. I'm doing this for free to get some great stuff out there for you to listen to once or twice a week.

Hi there, Erik. And welcome to 80sxchange.com - I'm at my office right now so I can't do any checking - but I'll try to do what I can when I get some free time. For me, time is hard to come by. I'm sure people will check out your site and give their opinions and advice. In the meantime, if you'd like to trade links, let me know..
