Did you know that Judas Priest formed in Birmingham in 1971, when former schoolmates K.K. Downing (guitar) and Ian Hill (bass) recruited vocalist Alan Atkins and drummer John Ellis?
Ian Hill's brother-in-law Rob Halford took Atkins' place.
The band's work on their album in 1990 was interrupted by a $6.2 million dollar lawsuit claiming that subliminal messages in the 1978 song "Better By You Better Than Me" caused two teenagers to commit suicide. The parents claimed that "backwards masking" in the Judas Priest classic had forced their children to suddenly form a suicide pact and shoot themselves. After several weeks of testimony, the judge ruled in the band's favor.
Halford (who recently came out) quit the band in 1993.
What d'ya know about Judas Priest? :)

K.K. Downing's first name is Ken.
The "British Steel" album features some innovative low-budget techniques for achieving those sound effects. The shattering glass in "Breaking The Law" was achieved by smashing a milk bottle. The intro to "Metal Gods" is a very distorted sound loop of a door being closed, while the swoosh of the 'robot scythe' is a pool cue, and the marching robots is a tray of cutlery being banged on a table.
The art department made an error in the "Breaking The Law" video. They built a cardboard V-neck guitar for the security guard to play, but the "V" was put on upside-down.
"Turbo" was originally intended to be a double album, "Twin Turbos".
The song "Reckless" could have appeared on the "Top Gun" soundtrack but the band wasn't interested, of course not knowing the film and its soundtrack would be a smash.
That three-armed cross/pitchfork thingy that has appeared here and there in Priest's album art since 1976 was apparently designed for the band and wasn't pre-existing as a symbol of anything.
For some bizarre reason, Rob insisted on travelling the entire German leg of the "Turbo" tour by train.

In the early 90's, Rob Halford began his own thrash band called Fight.
In 1974, Judas Priest signed a contract with Gull Records (an independent U.K. label).
In 1977, they signed with CBS Records that gave them a international contract.
