I stood just a few feet away from the woman who plays Ohura on Star Trek a few months ago. :D

And also...you don't know who these people are yet...BUT I saw Blind Luck Music (Magnum Records me thinks) play their first concert after being signed last friday. :D They were on ground level, no stage, and they were life size...not two inches tall and a million feet away. :D

I had a few beer with Peter North (male porn star) . I've mentioned this before, but it's my only claim to fame

How about having a second cousin who's name was all over the news after being arrested as the man who was involved in serial attacks on prostitutes! And then an old friend of mine who got himself in trouble a few years back ended up sharing a cell with him! My mother used to babysit that same psycho on occassions when she was young.

The only celebrities I have had any dealings with are New Zealand celebrities who none of you would ever have heard of.

Baseball player GAry Gaetti...is a family friend.

I have personally met the Osmond family..all but Donny. I have photographs and pictures.

My husband has personally met NHRA star..Don Garlitz

He's also met DAISY DUKE ...Catherine Bach.

I've met Sean Penn.

Former president Reagan's Press Secretary..Jim Brady used to hang around with my dad and his friends.

My mom went to High School with Harlem Globetrotter Star..BOBBY JO MASON.

I used to know a guy who had a band called Matinee...he left that band, joined another, and was the opening act for bands like Skid Row.

Speaking of Skid Row...my brother and his wife were waiting around for the traffic to clear out when Skid Row came out to their bus. John just went over and started talking to them...said they were decent guys and they all hung out just talking for about 45 min.

This list could go on....

I held the door for Donny Osmond at a restaurant at my hometown.

I got an autograph from Mike Bullard (Canadian talk show host) and I passed Eddie Izzard and we smiled at each other. (I didn't realize it was him until a couple of minutes later, had I known it was him I would have got his autograph, he was a guest at Mike Bullard's show, "Open Mike")

My sister met Madness and got to hang around with them. (That one's for LimeyB, who looks he/she's a Madness fan.)

One of my Mom's coworkers went to high school with Squiggy from Laverne & Shirley

My Dad knew Chuck Jones (one of the animators who drew Bugs Bunny)

D'oh I forgot I've had an e-mail correspondence with Lee Harris of Talk Talk.

I 've got too many to mention, but here's just a snipet of the list.
I've met all of the original cast of Star Trek except Leonard Nimoy.

Marina Sirtis (Troy), Patrick Stewart(Picard), and John DeLancie (Q) of Star Trek:TNG

Robert Conrad of Ba Ba Blacksheep & Wild Wild West - drinking and talking at a Chicago restaurant/bar, also had his make-up man and his wife over for Thanksgiving in 1978, Conrad left for home when they broke filming to spend the holiday at home.

Pat Benatar - Six times.....so far!

Talking and drinking in a bar and restaurant with all the members of Survivor with lead singer Jimi Jamison.

Talked with country star Alan Jackson after his show a few months before he won his first CMA award and became very famous.

I'll stop there!

Sarg..you had to rub it in didn't you? :) I'm just kidding...I am such a fan of Pat Benatar. She's so talented and has a fantastic voice. When you meet her for the 7th time...tell her I said hello ok? That's the closest I'll ever get to meeting her :)

I went to High School(1990) with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon(1988) and Ben's little Brother Casey (1993)

I dated the drummer for Diecast for a few years.

I talked to Adam Vinetari on the phone when i worked for Pagenet. His pager was broken.

Kerry King from Slayer and I share a birthday. I met them a few times.

Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band) was a close friend with my cousin and he was always at his apartment. Sadly last time i met him was at my cousins funeral.

I met Joe Perry and Steven Tyler at the King Richards Fare..
The worst one is that I used to baby-sit one of the kids that killed Jeff Curley.. I'm pretty sure the case went national. He and his accomplice raped and murdered 10 year old Jeffery Curley and stuck his body in a rubbermaid bin. Dropped it in some river in maine.

That's it

2-13-03, 09:16 PM
Well everyone else's stories put mine to shame. This is all I have gotten:

I got to talk on the phone to John Taylor of Duran Duran who was touring with the Powerstation at the time (long story).

I got to get backstage at a Dexy's Midnight Runners concert and meet the lead singer Kevin Rowland and get his autograph.

I have got to meet the following two artists at record signings at local record stores for autographs: Siouxsie & The Banshees and Adam Ant.

2-13-03, 09:41 PM
You think yours are low on the totem pole, Stacy? Mine must be lower than the gutter!

I got the autographs of three of the Hooters in the 80s. I gave them to a friend who couldn't attend the concert. And the only one I remember is one called Eric, last name started with a B, and he had dark, curly hair. LMAO!! I'm sure I can't be called their biggest fan!

Oh, I went to school with the son of a really popular news anchor who is running for Congress, does that count? :goofy:

Wow, some of you guys are putting me to shame:) ...ok, well here's a couple more of my meagre claims.....BTW BlueMolly, I'm a he, and a Madness fan, never met them though:(
When I was a kid I used to deliver Simon Le Bon's newspaper, great fun when there was all the young girls camped outside!
I used to drink in a pub in Pinner(incidently where Elton John was born) with Dave Le Bon. I met Kirk Brandon of Spear of Destiny in that same pub. I once shared a beer and a game of chess, I kid you not, with Buster Bloodvessel of Bad Manners in a basement pub in Soho, London. I taught Jeb Bush's kids to waterski. And last but not least, my sisters' were school friends of Jane March who was in such films as 'The Lover' and some other one with Bruce Willis, Color Of The Night or something like that.......well that's me all famed out:D

2-14-03, 09:07 PM
I met Jim Henson (the creator of the Muppets) a few months before his death at Walt Disney World. My brother and I talked with him and had our picture taken with him.

My brother and I saw Ron Jeremy on another Walt Disney trip. We were still too young to ask his autograph, but he waved to us and gestured to his bosomy companion with a smile on his face.

I've exchanged e-mails with "Tiny Toon Adventures" voice artist Joe Alaskey, one-time "Tiny Toons" writer Renee Carter Hall, DVD producer Scott Bosco (the man behind the awesome "Supergirl" set) and cartoon historian Jerry Beck.

I wrote letters to Steven Spielberg and Drew Barrymore and got autographs back from the both of them.

I plan on writing letters to Diane Lane, producer Joel Silver, director Walter Hill and Kathleen Turner and seeing if anything comes out of that.

That's my celeb past and future.

Sincerely,

John "outofplacechild" Kilduff

Well, let's see...

I've had beers with Johnny Cash and Evel Kneivel. I've had breakfast with Brix Smith (Adult Net and The Fall). I've talked with Budgie and Siouxsie. Met Run DMC. Danced with George Clinton. Partied with Fishbone and the Chili Peppers (back in their party days). Hung out with Ice T, shook hands with Lou Reed. Had chocolates with Robyn Hitchcock and the Softboys. Met Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood and Yoko Ono. Interviewed Chris and Cosey. Got pinched on the butt by Lydia Lunch. Saw Guns and Roses with about ten other people at the CBGB's Canteen (they sucked and we walked out - a week or so later they hit every chart)

Can't think of any more right now, but I know there's some other stories to tell.

I have a correction to make: my mom's coworker/friend went to school with Michael McKean (not David Lander (sp)), and she was also part of the Peanut Gallery on The Howdy Doody Show.

My Dad met and had lunch with Rod Serling.

My Mom met Jerry Orbach (Law & Order), and she also shook hands with Bobby Kennedy

I got an autograph from Andy Partridge (XTC), but sadly never met him, a friend got it for me

My brother had breakfast with Susan Olsen (Cindy Brady, The Brady Bunch), he won a "Stump Cindy Brady contest)

I got my name mentioned on two radio shows: One was on Rock Over London, I had my request for "Such a Shame" by Talk Talk, and the next was on The Joey Reynolds Show when he was asking about wasabi peas. I e-mailed the show and he mentioned my name.

I got beer spat at me by Ray Davies at a concert, and ALMOST shook hands with him, but some assclown pushed me out of the way.

My parents' best friend is the creator of the play, "Shear Madness", and he was in the movie, "The Way We Were" (it was a very small role)

Oh I forgot that Gabby Hayes (sidekick to Roy Rogers) is from my hometown of Wellsville, NY.

Folk Singer, Molly Scott (who is my namesake btw) is from my hometown too.

I once worked with Bill Pullman's sister in a health clinic in my hometown, and once he visited my hometown, sadly I missed him. :bigcry:

Ok, this is a cool one to reply to.
The biggest would have to be that my uncle played bass Guitar in the Band Mickey Ratt, which became Ratt and hit it big with Round and Round. Sadly, he was given an ultimatum by his ex wife and missed out on being an 80's where are they now trivia question.
I've met Rick Springfield, Donny Osmond, Marie Osmond, The Osmond brothers, Scott Baio, and several members of General Hospital in the 80's, including getting to chat with Emma Samms at a charity function. And I chatted with Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid) in a chat room back in 1996. Well, the guy claimed to be, but he knew lots of stuff about Ralph that just anyone claiming to be him wouldn't have known.

I met Billy Duffy {The Cult} at a benefit soccer game in L.A.

I went out with the guitarist from 4 Non-Blondes, before he was in 4 Non-Blondes.

And...I think that's it.

80's related:
*My old boss's brother is the drummer for Journey.
*A friend of mine got in a fight with a New Kids On the Block bodyguard, for talking s**t (we didn't like them) to one of the new kids while they were in our hometown for a concert.
*When I was only 12, I worked as a waitress. I served Mr.T. And Chris Ford (an old Boston Celtics coach). And Mike Tyson's lady friends... yes, that's plural... he had a few of them with him.
*I met Andy Gibb. Woohoo! :) From the BeeGees. My mother cocktailed at a casino in our hometown. She'd get us into shows all the time.

Not related to the 80's:
*I met Art Linkletter (from Kids Say the Darndest Things). He's old as dirt.

Lets see, nothing really big but got drunk with Gary Porter, the driver of Carolina Crusher Monster Truck about 12 years ago at a weekend bash of mud runs, truck pulls, etc...Met a few other famous people/Drivers there as well but forget their names.

Sorta Met Stephen King at the Portland, Maine Airport. I was just to speechless to say much since I admire his work a great deal.

My Wife met Stephen King at a local corner store in Bangor, Maine. Her and her friend were arguing if it was really him or not and he turned around and confirmed to them it was him...lol wish I had seen her face.

They just finished filming a movie in my home town last fall called Empire Falls with Helen Hunt, Ed Harris, Aiden Quin, Paul Newman, etc... Got to see many of the actors on the street but not a big deal. It actually was horrible to sit in traffic for 2 hours to move 200 yards, do to them taking over our small town...lol

My cousins used to party With Judd Nelson probably about 20 years ago, or so I heard anyway.

Nothing really impressive.

Guess I'm pretty lame myself,

I rode in an elevator with Nichelle Nichold (Uhura from the Original Star Trek)

Talked in the parking lot with one of the Nelson twins (can't tell which one it was) after their concert

Came from the same hometown as football player Joey Galloway (Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys)

I lived with the cousin of actor Michael Keaton (who's real name is Michael Douglas) but I never met Michael, but did meet his mother (for what that's worth)

I guess I gotta work on my star power a little cause that's pretty pathetic.

I know quite a few Musicians from the Dance music industry in the UK, plus countless other DJ's that I've met or had the pleasure of working with. I've also had a few mentions in a UK Dance music magazine called 'Mixmag'.
I've been insulted by 'the legendary DJ Frankie Bones' on several occasions, though I guess that's nothing unusal as he spends a lot of time insulting many people.

I came very close to running over 'Toyah' whilst driving in London in the late 80's, though she managed to get out the way in time. :mwaha:

In March, I met KC from KC and the Sunshine band at a radio station sponsored meet and greet. I won a luncheon with him and about 20 other fans..got his autograph and some pictures with him. Later that night I was front row at his concert.

I was an extra in the film, "The Faculty" and I met Usher, Elijah Wood, and Bebe Neurith (Lilith from Cheers).

I was also an extra in the James Bond movie "Octopussy" when I was 10 yrs old. They were filming it at the base my dad was stationed at in England, so all the dependents (family members) were asked to be extras. I didn't meet anyone though...it was a cool experience though and the start of my "extra" career.

Tried to be an extra in Dazed and Confused..but couldn't make it.
Oh..I saw some scenes from Suburbia being filmed. I said "Hi" to Steve Zahn and Nicky Katt in between takes. They were nice and said "Hi" back to me.
Although Richard Linklatter and Robert Rodriguez film around Austin all the time so there's hope yet...

Not much compared to others but when i was a kid I lived in the apartment complex called Collonial Woods in Baton Rouge. This was where the Mid-South wrestlers lived. Ernie Ladd, Chief Jay Strongbow, Mr. Wrestling II, and Ted Debiase. Some notable interactions were....

The Junkyard Dog used to take me and the two sons of the apartment manager for ice cream a couple of times a week.

Paul Orndorff called me a sissy-boy for doing laundry, and that jackass meant it! His son who was three years older than me, outweighed me by a ton, and was in my class also beat me up. What I would not give for a rematch with that punk now:mad:

My next door neighbor was Jake the Snake Roberts. He was cool back then. Just starting out, on his first marriage and sober. I used to hang out with his daughter who was about a year younger.

I have hung out with various 80's metal bands at my art shows and some parties around LA. I think that I talked about that in the metal forum in the subject of Metal Sludge. I helped break a few stories, that is all I have to say on that subject, I may have to move back there again one day;)

Anita Roddick, the founder of "The Body Shop" is one of my art collectors

Faith got called to jury duty with Lar$ and confirmed he is a deeeeek. She has also ran into Eddie Murphy in San Francisco.

That is about it.

Oh wait, soon hopefully we can all boast that we know that bass player guy and drummer from Livesay. What are their names again? :thumb:

Don Vito is hillarious   The crap he lets Bam and his crew do to him for that paycheck is priceless. I loved it when they strapped him in that chair on the back of the moving truck and took hime through the drivethrough for burgers. You should have asked for a date! Oh Yeah, you missed that gravy train :dammit:

When I was 1 my parents were in Hawaii on vacation. To make a long story short, they met Tom Selleck at a bar, hung out with him for a few days. He ended up babysitting me for a half hour. :yesnod:

Kirk Muller used to live on my street. I played road hockey one day with him and a bunch of guys. I was like 10 years old and he was cross checking me like it was the NHL  Years before that though, he was doing an autograph session at the local Leon's Furniture store. I was like 6 years old at the time and went to get his autograph so he signed a New Jersey Devils sticker which I still have somewhere

Ex-NHL [Detroit Red Wings (1997-1999) / Atlanta Thrashers (1999-2002)] goalie Norm Maracle lives next door, across the street, and around the corner from all my family on my mother's side. He also co-owned a sporting goods store with my cousin for about a year, but pulled out of it cause his NHL schedule kept him busy.

My dad went to High School with Paul Schaffer (David Letterman's band leader) and also met Canadian 60's singer Bobby Curtola when he was just starting out

My mom knows NHL legend Bobby Hull and went to school with a few of his sisters

I saw the Cure play in Philadelphia in 1987 (I think). After the show their tour bus was briefly on the highway behind the car I was in.

When I visited London in 1988 and walked near Parliament, a car containing Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip drove past me and stopped at a stoplight nearby. Her cheeks were so pink!

My Canadian friends told me about Barenaked Ladies in 1992. I saw them in a tiny club near Philadelphia a year or two later before they were big in the US. Great show!

Maybe not the same as meeting any of these people, but all these things made me happy.

an acquaintance of mine claims he went to high school with Corey Hart. Not quite sure that's true though.

There was a girl in my elementary school who was in a KFC commercial and one of my best friend's cousins was in a Coke commercial.

Apparently I walked past the singer of The Manic Street Preachers once in Wales.

Wish I really had something.

When I was a teen, I worked overnight at a convenient store and James Young (Styx guitarist) lived down the block, so he'd come in all wasted late at night sometimes. He was pretty cool.

I met Howard Stern in the street in NYC when I was 16. We got his autograph and a picture of my brother shaking his hand.

My dad grew up on the same street as John Travolta and dated one of his sisters.

The drummer from Iron Maiden, Nicko McBrain lives or lived 3 minutes down the road from me. My brother has hung out with him and my husband saw him with his son in the arcade my husband used to work at.

Some 10 years ago some cousins of mine were on the Jenny Jones show (and the topic was not flattering) *places bag over head*

That's all I can think of for the moment.

I then asked him what it was like to be on the same stage as the great Steve Perry(he-Jackson- was a former bassist for Journey in the late 80s) he said" No one could touch Steve then, I doubt anyone could now". I asked him why Steve hasn't been on the show yet, he shrugged and said "good question". Thanked me and walked off. Journey is one of all time favorite bands.

Bumped into Don Johnson and Sheena Easten outside of Sushi on Sunset in Hollywood. Played in an arcade with Rick Schroder and Alfonso Ribiera.
