I guess I'm just more of a fan of the music...I'll take a shot in the dark and say Power Station? Arcadia is another name I've heard associated with Duran Duran.

Uh uh! Wrong choice Joyce! That's the name of the bands that they split up into after Duran Duran. Simon, Nick and Roger formed Arcadia and Andy and John along with Robert palmer and some other guy formed Power Station. They were called RAF before they became Duran Duran! Well Duran Duran is my group too so I'll answer number 14.

I can't read about it burns the skin from your eyes (or if you want to get technical it's No No Notorious http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/wink.gif)

The other guy in Power Station was Tony Thompson.

Duran's original name as I understand it was RAF. Didn't mean anything they just liked the sound of it.

If you like Duran Duran they're on tour this summer. I've got to find the apporpriate forum to put that in.

Arcadia and Power Station were side projects -- they did not form after any "split," because the band never split.

Arcadia was formed by Simon and Nick. Roger was not a part of Arcadia. I don't remember that far back, but I think Roger may have already been out of the picture by the time Arcadia came along.

Well according to the info I have on their history Roger was part of the band from the beginning. He quit after the album 'So the Red Rose' because he couldn't handle the stress of fame anymore. Andy also quit Powerstation. They last played together, as the original line-up, at the Live Aid concert in '85. So in a way they did split up to play in their separate bands, then joined up again in a different line-up in'86. This is just what I know and what info I have on hand, but may differ to what info someone else has.
