Did you know that the band was briefly called Angel And The Snake?

The song "Call Me" was used in the movie American Gigolo.

"The Tide Is High" is a cover. The song was originally done by reggae band, The Paragons. **just a note, this song was credited to John Holt on another site**

Before Blondie, lead singer Deborah Harry was a member of an all girl tribute band called Stilletto. **called The Stillettos on another site**

What do you know about Blondie?

There are two videos for "The Tide Is High". The more memorable of the two features a bug-faced alien in a Darth Vader helmet.

"Rapture" was the first big hit song/video to feature rapping in it. I'm sure Daffy will be along to tell us if it was a US #1!

The group Blondie was formed in New York City in August of 1974.

They released their first album, Blondie, on Private Stock Records in December 1976.

Blondies first UK hit 'Denis' actually started out life as 'Denise' by 'Randy & the Rainbows' an 1963 Doo Wop release in the States. :)

On the subject of 'Call Me' the music for the song was written by the legendary Giorgio Moroder, and the instrumental version can be found on the B-side of the 7" single that just credits himself for the release not Blondie. :thumb:
