Someone will probably get this one in 2 seconds. What television theme composer coincidently shared his name with one of the shows in which he composed the theme.

O.k. here's a clue: the composer also wrote the theme for a popular primetime cartoon.

Well, I guess either no one knows the answer or no one is interested. The answer is:
Alf Clausen

Alf always freaked me out. What a weird show that was!?!? What the hell was he supposed to be anyway? An Alien, I think. And the father was a weirdo too. If he hated Alf so much, why did he keep him?

I remember the minor 80's hit where Alf was singing Stuck on Earth. Mixed by Ben Liebrand - didn't help - he still sounded horrible.
