Yesterday, I got this notice in the mail that our building's management company has been delinquent in paying their electric bills, so if they don't pay it off by Febrary 3rd they're going to shut off the power. By law, they can do that, which seems really stupid when it comes to a multiunit apartment building. Why do us tennants have to be punished for what our management company is doing?
I talked to my godmother, who's a lawyear, and she said not to worry, because the management company won't let us lose our power. I don't like that answer, I have a feeling I'm going to lose my electricity. I've lived in this building for about eight years, and this is the first time this has happened. I just don't know what to do. Has anybody here had to go through this before? I don't want to move from my building, but I'm seriously thinking about it.
