Did you know that Tina was born in 1939 in Brownsville, TN?

Her real name is Annie Mae Bullock.

Ike Turner originally turned Tina down when she asked if she could sing with his band. And she actually started out with them as a backing vocalist.

She and Ike married in 1958 and, after a stormy and abusive marriage, Tina left him in 1976.

What do you know about Tina?

No wonder she is in the Hall of Fame...my fingers are tired...:)

Three observations, I was suprised to see how well she did on the album rock charts. Those charts are usually more on the rock end of things. Second, I'm suprised how lousy she did on the AC charts. Ike and Tina never even hit those charts. Finally, it's amazing to me how well she did in the UK as a solo artist.

Wow, look at the charting difference between the UK and US for "River Deep Mountain High". Considering what a famous song it is now...
