All these songs are about the good ol' U.S. of A.

1 "send me off to a foreign land to go and kill the yellow man" (actual lyrics, not meant to offend)
2 "free, we want to be free, we huddle close"
*Canadian smilie* 3 "little sister make minimum wage, living in a one room jungle, monkey cage"
4 "from the mountain tops to the rollin' hills, baseball, hot dogs, and all the cheap thrills"
*SMILIE* 5 "all night diners, keep you awake on black coffee and a hard roll"
6 "This lady may have stumbled but she ain't never fell, and if the Russians don't believe that they can all go straight to hell" (once again not meant to offend)
7 "on the stairs I smoke a cigarette alone, Mexican kids are shooting fireworks below"
8 "well let me roll up on the sidewalk and take a look"
9 "From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, cross the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea"
10 "looking out a dirty old window down below the cars in the city go rushing by"
11 "I took a plane to sunny Spain, I crossed the desert on a camel train"
*Canadian smilie* 12 "well there's a young man in a teeshirt, listening to a rock n' roll station"
13 "seems everything I buy these days has got a foreign name"
14 "everytime I look you're falling falling, hidden by the wind"
15 "so we must learn to love each other, see that man over there, he's my brother"
16 "paint your lipstick, confidence shines like glass"
17 "the kid I was when I first left home, was looking for his freedom and a life of his own"
18 "talk is cheap on satellite, but all I get is information, I'm still here"
19 "hate New York City it's cold and it's damp"
*smilie* 20 "and they're closing all the factories down"
21 "Leroy says send a picture, Leroy says hello"
22 "honey can't you remember we played all the parts"
*smilie* 23 "it was a cold and wet December day, when we touched the ground at JFK"
*smilie* 24 "her bikini small, heels tall, she said she likes the ocean"
25 "another mile or two to 'Frisco 200 gallons from L.A., the engine's thumpin' like a disco, we oughtta dump her in the bay"

1 through 18 are about America in general. 19 through 25 are about specific places in the U.S. good luck, I think they may be hard this time!

Smilies for right answers.

I exceeded the amount of smilies allowed by article of the law so I will just write *smilie*

us007ed,
you got 8 full smilies and 2 half smilies. #22 is "Key Largo" but we'll see if anyone can come up with the artist. He was a former drummer for Tommy Roe if that helps. #12 You had the right artist but wrong song. I was impressed that you got "Calling America". I thought that would be a tough one. I'm gonna guess you like country because you got those ones right.

#5 comes from the Hardest Working Man In Show Business...The Godfather Of Soul...Soul Brother # 1...Mr. JAMES BROWN with the 1986 smash "Living In America".

On the 80s scene like a sex machine, it's...

Sincerely,

John "outofplacechild" Kilduff

I tried to stick with just 80's songs. Devil went down to Georgia was 1979 I believe. Although a great song. My sister had the 45 for "The night Chicago died" I love that song! "Daddy was a cop, on the east side of Chicago......"

I remember playing that 45 as a kid, lying by the speaker on the living room floor.
There's some commercial I keep seeing that's selling a compilation cd of "The night chicago died", "Devil went down to Ga." and all kinds of other great songs. I should order it.
We also had some album with songs like "Ahab the Arab" "Itsy-beeny teeny-weeny yellow polka dot bikini" and "One eyed, one horn flying purple people eater" on it.

oops..i went off topic, too..but they were good ol' American type songs..lol
