Douglas Adams, author of one of the bestselling novels of the 80s, The Hitchikers Guide To the Galaxy, died today of a heart attack at the age of 49... The Hitchikers Guide sold more than forteen million copies worldwide, and was the basis of a popular BBC television series. Sad news, indeed...

That really sucks. And he was so young

I think I have read all of his books. I will really miss his work. While "Hitchhiker's" was a great book, I think I liked "Dirk Gently" a little more.

I remember watching Hitchiker when I was little but don't remember much of the actual show. I hope to see it again soon!

I was really shocked when I heard about Douglas Adams' death-- not only is he one of my favorite authors, but he was the same age as my mom. Ulp!

Tossing back a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster in his memory.

I loved The Hitchhiker. It ranks up there with Twilight Zone, Tales From the Crypt, and Outer Limits. I love all those bizarre shows. What a shame one of the pioneering authors has passed on at a young age!
