View Full Version : Snow Day!!
My kids are experiencing their first ever snow day. Brandon has already learned he can make money by shoveling sidewalks and driveways. It started snowing around 11:00 last night and it's still coming down. :yikes:
It's really beautiful, but I'm afraid to get out in it. :(
Wave, I didn't get around to putting the sand bags in the trunk of my car. Of course, when you told me that it was 11:30 pm here and already snowing.
I haven't seen any snow since early January, 2001.
On December 31, 2000--less than 20 minutes before midnight--snow started to fall. I thought of it as "20th century snow," because it fell literally within the last 20 minutes of 2000--officially, the last year of the 20th century.
Oh Jeff, I remember that. It snowed in Louisiana that day too, but disappeared as soon as it hit the ground. LOL
Roemello 12-05-02, 03:31 PM Snowing here a little today too....hopefully there's not a lot stickin....more shoveling...:argh::lol::p
Christine 12-05-02, 03:39 PM I got out of school at 10:30 this morning, because of the snow! It's still snowing hard and it's sticking to the ground. :) Hopefully I won't have school tomorrow! :p
Jazzmyn 12-05-02, 04:09 PM No snow here. Would be nice to see some. Not much even on the mountains here yet this year.
Tydestra 12-05-02, 04:27 PM Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! It's snowing!
It's coming down in the city already :D I just got home from burying my nephew in it. Little punk thought it was cute to shove snow down the back of my jacket
We only recieved one inch of snow and they closed the schools down for two days.
The kids enjoyed their first day off but now they are bored stiff.
I hated snow days when I was a kid.. I loved school
Shortie Blonde 12-05-02, 06:15 PM For once...I actually want a snow day. I want a day this week when I can just talk to Teddie for hours because I feel very sad right now and I also miss him.
BlueMolly2001 12-05-02, 06:53 PM So Buffalo's not getting all the attention now. :p So now we can say NYC is the snow capital of NYS.
Tydestra 12-05-02, 06:58 PM  Nah, we're just having our 15 mins of snow fame... you people upstate get the feets of snow :p Wanna trade?

Tydestra 12-05-02, 07:47 PM Come to think about it... nah :p I think the rest of the City kids wouldn't like it :p Get your mayor to talk to ours :p

No feet! I think about 5 or 6 inches. I don't even want to think about getting more snow than that. :yikes:
Iluvthe80s 12-06-02, 12:03 AM <----------so thankful doesn't have to deal with snow!
It has been colder today than normal though. The high was only in the 40's most of the day.
Whiners. :p
We were only supposed to get an inch or two, but we got 4 or 5. Highway crews were in shock, and had to get up at 1:30 a.m. to plow! Poor ol' sots!!
Think about all those poor people who can't even get outside to shovel their walks, and count your blessings! If I were Shei, I would tsk y'all!! :p
Roemello 12-06-02, 12:17 AM We didn't get much....a little fluff on the ground...easy to push right outta the way in no time. But that better be the worst of it! :hammer::lol:
But I look it at this way....I'd rather the snow than high humidity or tornados :vibrator::lol::p Snow and a rare hurricane is about all we have to deal with up here :)
Caligula 12-06-02, 05:36 AM I guess the snow everyone on the east coasr finally reached me, but were only supposed to get 2-4 inches, nothing will be cancelled.
It's in the high 40's and been raining last night and today. I haven't even seen snow in nearly ten years since I moved from Chicago in '93, can't say I miss it much though. :D
