E! Special: Child Stars Of The 80's

Child's Players: See How the Young and Successful Survive Stardom

Premieres: Sun., Dec. 1, 9 p.m. (Eastern)

They're cute and cuddly, precocious and precious--and right on cue with the wisecracks.

They're child stars, the adorable moppets who populate the shows we loved--The Cosby Show, Family Ties, The Wonder Years to name just a few--and who bring a certain half-pint personality that audiences eat up.

But what happens when the show's over? How do cute kids navigate a world in which they're no longer the wisecracking know-it-all? That's what Child Stars of the '80s, premiering December 1, at 9 p.m., is all about, as the E! True Hollywood Story talks to the young stars themselves about their experiences in the spotlight and beyond.

We've all heard the stories of the kids who didn't make the transition, who got lost in addiction or delusion, but we don't often hear about the kids who didn't get lost, arrested or messed up by fame.

In this informative and uplifting special, E! talks to the success stories--from New Kids on the Block's Donnie Wahlberg, who transformed himself from a boy-band bad boy into a respected actor, or The Wonder Years' Danica McKellar, who went to college to study mathematics.

Think we're just kidding around? Tune in, and you'll see what you're favorite young stars are doing now in this fascinating new special.
