View Full Version : This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for...
ImSoooSure 11-26-02, 03:27 AM Remember when you used to have to go around the table and do this as a kid? Or was that just me? Well now I'd like to put you guys thru it. :D Let us know what you're thankful for this year. Big or small let's hear it!
I'm thankful that my mom is still with us. She has had breast cancer reaccur 8 times in the past 7 years. She is still struggeling with it but she's here and an incredibly strong woman. They gave her 1 year to live 3 years ago so I'm incredibly thankful to have her with me again this Thanksgiving.
I'm also thankful for this goofy place. :p I love coming here to unwind at night. :D I've made some good friends on here. :yesnod:
Lisa, very good question and I too had to do this as a kid. I am very thankful for my family and friends and that we were blessed with another child on the way. I am also thankful for the friends I have met while here.
Iluvthe80s 11-26-02, 06:56 AM I remember as a kid my mom would make us say what we are thankful for as well. This year I am thankful that I got the job I did earlier in the year & that my family & I seem to be in good health.
The80sAngel 11-26-02, 04:04 PM Being able to experience an American Thanksgiving, having a new place away from my troubles to start over in, having Will in my life, all the new friends I've made, and being able to smile again.
Shortie Blonde 11-26-02, 04:10 PM Not being obsessed anymore, having a great friend like Teddie, and not doing bad things that I wanted to over the summer.
This is one holiday I wish we celebrated in New Zealand.
I'm thankful that I'm getting to fulfill my childhood dream this Christmas of visiting the USA and going to Disneyland! :D
LOSTNTHE80S 11-26-02, 05:24 PM I am thankful everyday, that I was given a second chance at life, at happiness, to be able to love again, to find my true soulmate, a second chance to raise a loving family.
I am thankful for our warm home & clothes. That we always have enough to eat. Our cars may not be brand new, but they are reliable.
I am thankful that I even though my hearing is going, that I still am able to enjoy the laughter of my children.
I am thankful that we live in a safe town...at least safer than some places. I wouldn't want to raise the kids anywhere else.
I am thankful for lifelong friends, even though we live many miles apart, Roger & I are able to talk through the computer and sometimes even on the phone. We've been friends for 25 years.
I am thankful that our country is STILL standing and will survive.
I am thankful for many things.
I remember doing this every year.
I am thankful for my children and having a job to give them the Christmas they need.
I am thankful to have a man who loves me no matter what and I am thankful for just being alive.
Sometimes I take the little things for granted and I am learning to appreciate everything in my life.

Ripgut Cannibal 11-27-02, 06:05 AM I'm thankful to have found a place where I won't be ridiculed for listening to cheesy 80s pop.
I'm thankful for my friends that inspire me to keep working out, practicing on my guitar, and going to school, so I will someday cease to be a big fat loser that isn't good at anything.
I'm thankful for my husband, our son, and life. I'm thankful that God thought I was worth blessing.
I never had to do the 'what are you thankful for' at Thanksgiving dinner, but I make my family do it. I didn't know it was so popular. ;)
My friend sent me this in an e-mail (I'm not posting the whole thing, it's boring. ):
MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY, MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP,
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS,
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER
STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS.
I am thankful for my husband and my sons, that we love each other and have good relationships with each other. That we have fun together. That we have a nice home to live in. That we have the best dog and kitten in the world. That we have enough.
I'm thankful for the family I grew up in, that I had terrific parents and that I got along with my brother and sisters, and mostly that my one sister is my best friend.
I'm thankful for the friends I've made here. And that DJ's show is back on every Wednesday night...and that's where I'm going right now.:D
I am thankful that a have a beautiful wife who supports my career 100%. Even though I could be doing something that makes alot more money, she knows I would be miserable unless I was playing music, and she stands behind me.
I'm thankful that the Goddess gave me the ability to play my bass and write songs, and I'm thankful every time I hear applause after playing our songs live.
I'm thankful there's a roof over my head, food in my stomach, and clothes on my back.
I'm thankful to have found a band with four guys I consider my brothers more than my bandmates.
I'm thankful to my mother and father, for making me the person I am today.
Finally...I'm thankful every morning when that alarm clock goes off and I have to get up for work, because it means I'm alive another day.....and EVERY day above ground is a good one.
Happy Thanksgiving, fellow Xchangers...

Femmetal 11-28-02, 12:07 AM My family never did this, but it's a great tradition to have.... I am thankful to be alive; to have both my parents & grandmother; for the 2 silly felines in my life; for all the blessings I've had the pleasure of experiencing so far in life; and for living in a country where we still have freedom of opinions & choices.
~*~*Happy Thanksgiving to all*~*~
