For once, I have a pretty well rounded update.

Run DMC will do an online chat at MSN.com on April 5.

The Psychedelic Furs have launched a reunion tour. The shows will be recorded for a live cd. They will then record a cd with all new material next year.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers will do a 15 show warmup tour of the western US in May and June. They are in the process of recording their new cd. They will be selling the best seats to these shows at www.tompetty.com (http://www.tompetty.com) starting at 2PM EST on Thursday March 29.

REM's new cd, Reveal, will be released on May 15.

Judas Priest's new cd will be called Demolition. Some of the song titles are: Metal Messiah, In Between, Lost and Found, One On One, Feed On Me, and Machine Man.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will release a live cd, Live in New York City, on April 3. The cd was recorded during last year's E Street Band Reunion Tour.

Living Colour have reunited for a west coast (US) tour and possible new cd. More dates are expected to be added.

Def Leppard are working on a new cd. They hope to finish recording it by year's end, with a possible tour next year.

L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, and Gilby Clarke (ex-G'N'R) will go on tour this summer.

Also hitting the summer tour circuit is one of the strangest combinations (IMO): Bulletboys, Pretty Boy Floyd and Lizzy Borden.

The Cult will release their new cd on June 5. They will hit the road this summer with Monster Magnet.

Major 3-day festival in southeast US: It is called The 8th Annual Atlanta Downtown Festival. Featured acts include Fuel, Black Crowes, Jerry Cantrell, Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Kansas, Bob Dylan, Steppenwolf, The Cult, and Steve Earl. There will be over 100 acts on the bill scheduled for May 4-6 in (you guessed it) downtown Atlanta.

Jethro Tull will tour the US from July to September.

Rumor: Bon Jovi's shows at Giants Stadium on July 27 and 28 will be their last. Is Jon quitting the band to concentrate on his acting career?

Joey Ramone, lead singer of The Ramones, has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He is in a New York hospital "getting better and better" according to his publicist.

Rumor: Mike Inez is a serious contender to replace Jason Newsted in Metallica.

That's it for now. Stay tuned.....

Since there was so much interest in the Glam Slam Metal Jam, I went and got an update. And there is quite a bit.
More dates have been confirmed, check www.quietriotonline.com (http://www.quietriotonline.com) for information in your area. Look for Poison's new single, Rockstar, soon. Rikki Rocket will be in an online chat at www.usatoday.com (http://www.usatoday.com) on Thursday March 29 at 5PM PST.
THE big news is (and this is only happening in Texas, sorry guys) the lineup for the San Antonio and Houston shows. Not only will the 'regular' lineup of Poison, Warrant, Quiet Riot, and Enuff Z'nuff be there but they will have some 'special' guests as well: Vince Neil, Great White, and Bulletboys!!!! Get your tix fast, this tour will sellout, esp. those Texas shows!

Cool! Thanks for all the new news! I wish I lived down in Texas for that big concert with everybody. I'd love to send this out to everyone on the email list but I think I'd better give them a break. I sent everyone 3 emails the other day and I got a few complaints! An accident. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif But nonetheless, I posted this message at a couple of 80s sites so hopefully word will spread about these great concerts quickly! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

Thanks again, Red! You're great!

Me, Great! Ha, that's a stretch! You know the thing that stinks is that I am a little more than 2 hours north of San Antonio and could get off work, but I doubt I'll be able to go. We are taking a 10 hour drive to Missouri 2 weeks earlier to see my brother graduate from college and I seriously doubt I'll have the money (The ticket prices are gonna be outragious, I'm sure). The good thing is that my wife doesn't care if I go, as long as we can afford it. I guess time will tell. Where are those bonuses from work I was promised?

Yeah, I'm exited about the new Springsteen live cd. There is also the HBO special on the 7th. A music store near me in NJ is having a party the night before on APril 2nd and will release the cd at midnight. Rumor is Bruce is gonna show, because he is in there a lot and I think is friends with the owner.

Wow, that is cool, EBG!! The Boss is one of those artists that ou can't help but like regardless of what type of music you normally listen to. I hope you get to meet him and maybe get an autographed cd (that would be awesome!).

I don't see him hanging up his microphone yet Amy....http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif Maybe more solo career??? It'd be a shame to waste that talent on just acting.

Agree with you there Myst. I'm sure if the band did go their seperate ways they'd still be doing projects on their own.

But they can't break up! Jon, Richie, Dave, Tico and Hugh are a family!!! You can't break up a family like that!!! I don't want just Jon Bon Jovi, I want Bon jovi!!! The Jersey bar band!!! I am going to see them on the last show at the Giants stadium in Jersey and I'll have a backstage pass, so you can believe that Jon will hear from me!!!!!
