I just found a news story off musicstation.com...
Edward Van Halen Set For Clinical Trial At Cancer Hospital
by Jon Zahlaway
LiveDaily Staff Writer
Guitarist Edward Van Halen on Thursday (5/25) met with staff at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston as an outpatient, according to a statement issued by band representatives Friday evening.
The announcement, released on Friday (5/26) evening via the band's official website, said that the guitarist plans to participate in a clinical trial for cancer prevention. The briefly-worded statement gave no other details about the musician's health.
Earlier Friday, MTV.com published a news report claiming that the guitarist was undergoing treatment for tongue cancer. The story, quoting unnamed sources close to the band, was removed from the site's headline list after the band's statement was issued.
The University of Texas-associated hospital is cited by medical groups and media reports as one of the nation's leading cancer treatment and research facilities.
