You want more proof that this is a great year for music of the big 80's. Well, I have some:
Journey's new cd, Arrival, will arrive in stores on April 3rd. Their North American Tour starts on June 2nd. Their opening bands are John Waite (Babys) and Peter Frampton!
Winger update: Reb Beach is in! That completes the original lineup. The only problem is that it has been pushed back from this summer to this fall. This will give Reb time to complete his recording commitments with Dokken (a new Dokken cd soon?).
Styx has just completed a co-headlining tour with REO Speedwagon. They are about to embark on another co-headling tour with Bad Company (with Paul Rodgers singing!). Also on tour with them will be Billy Squire! And newcomer Joe Stark.
Look for Rough Cutt's new cd soon.
The new Judas Priest cd will be released in Europe on May 28th!! Still no word on a North American release date yet.
Stevie Nicks will release her new cd, Trouble in Shangri-La, on May 1st.
Jester (see the discussion in the glam section) will be on "The Tour Bus" on March 17th. "The Tour Bus" is a syndicated show on The Fox Network.
Mike Tramp (formerly of White Lion) has just completed his new cd, Don't Take My Rock N Roll. No release date has been set yet. But, a US tour has been confirmed for June and July.
New supergroup: They are calling themselves Bourgeois Pigs. The band features a dynamite lineup! They are: Richard Black- vocals (Shark Island, Contraband), Jake E. Lee- guitar (Ozzy, Badlands), Michael Guy- guitar (House of Lords), Tony Franklin- bass (The Firm, Blue Murder) and Lindsay Vannoy- keyboards (Alice Cooper). Guests on the cd include: Matt Sorum- drums (The Cult, Guns'n'Roses), Ken Mary-drums (House of Lords) and Kelly Hansen- backing vocals ( Hurricane). Their debut cd will be released Fall, 2001.
