View Full Version : Official 80sxchange Awards: Category #41: Best Drama Movie Of 1983
Iluvthe80s 10-26-02, 09:53 AM I spent so much time gathering information for the Football Trivia that I didn't have time for this. We will just continue with Dramas this week. This one is the best drama movie of 1983. Six choices as always. This voting session will end on 11/9/02.
"Say hello to my little friend!" - I voted Scarface :)
BlitzKid 10-26-02, 12:45 PM The Outsiders, and not just because they did a great casting job!
I also like Flashdance, but never really saw it as a drama movie, more one of these lovley 80s dance movies!
Iluvthe80s 10-27-02, 02:35 PM This was tough for me! I liked "Terms Of Endearment", "Flashdance", & "The Outsiders". I ended up voting for "The Outsiders" though.
80sTrivia 10-27-02, 03:56 PM Well, seeing that Terms of Endearment swept the Academy Awards that year, it received my vote! :thumb:
Caligula 10-28-02, 01:37 PM I voted for Scarface, I also like the Right Stuff, Terms of endearment, Outsider's was okay , and tried to like The big Chill but have never gotten into it
This list to me is just another reason why I think early 80s dramas were bad.
The Big Chill bored the hell out of me. Flash Dance ???? I couldn't see much worth raving about here. OK, some of the dance scenes with Jennifer Beals weren't too bad, but still.
I did like the Outsiders though. So that got my vote.
I voted for The Right Stuff. Great movie with lots of great actors.
Boyofthe80s 10-28-02, 05:03 PM The Big Chill. That had the best cast and made me laugh and cry and even reflect.
I love it when Mary Beth Hurt and William Hurt are getting stoned after the funeral and Glen Close is perfection in it.
5 thumps up - yer arse.
The Right Stuff. It was a great story with great casting. I always enjoy history well done.:)
Darkside 11-02-02, 07:54 PM I voted for The Outsiders. Part of that movie was filmed close to my hometown in Oklahoma.
Brand1974 11-02-02, 08:02 PM This was a difficult one to choose, but I chose Terms of Endearment. I also liked The Big Chill
Roemello 11-03-02, 09:12 PM Tough call between Scarface and The Outsiders...but if I had to choose which to watch right now, I'd probably go with The Outsiders, so that's what I'll vote for :p
I went with Terms Of Endearment. Nothing adds drama like a dying Mama. ;)
nolanbuc 11-04-02, 04:28 AM Flashdance. Loved the soundtrack...one of the first LP's I bought with my own money. As for the movie itself...hey, I was a 13 year old boy! :D
Iluvthe80s 11-09-02, 08:52 AM This poll is now closed. The winner for best drama movie of 1983 is: THE OUTSIDERS.
