I've been having problems with depression again lately. I've been on paxil for just over a year. My meds aren't working so well anymore. The last few weeks have been really tough on me. Saw my dr. on wednesday to discuss options. Going to try a couple of things to see what works best. First will be to increase the paxil, if that doesn't help then I'll be switching to a new med zoloft. Hopefully one of them will work. Really want to get my life back on track.

I'm so sorry to hear your having probs with this Jazzy. I really hope you find something that works for you. Do you exercise still? I know that can help ease depression dramatically. You're posts on here always make me smile so keep those up too. :D

I'm so sorry, Jazzy. I know second hand from close loved ones how difficult it can be to manage depression with your meds. Hang in there, hon. :*

Hey there.
I just today went and got diagnosed for depression/anxiety, and they said that I would probably have to go on paxil or zoloft. Not that I'm excited about the news, but knowing there is a diagnosis for it made me feel better. I also feel a little better that I'm finally getting help for this. I have been feeling in despair for almost 3 years now.
Glad to know I'm not alone, Jazz.

Always here if you need someone to talk to you. I was on paxil for just over a year. Just started taking zoloft. Doing ok though. It helps a lot to see a dr for it. Nice to know you can do something to help make you feel better. I've been dealing with this since I was about 15.

In a strange twist o'fate, Xandra's switched from Zoloft ta Paxil CR. She's gettin back in th'balance again, so that's good. Today she laughed fer the first time in months. :)

Thanks, Jazz, I think I'll take you up on that. I've been having real anxiety today, just thinking about taking medication, and what will it be like, and am I doing the right thing? I know what the source of my anxiety is today, and that problem has passed, and was not as bad as I thought, but I am still here trying to breath, so that I can get that knot twisted ball feeling out of my stomach.
I think I've been dealing with this since I was in my teens, off and on. I'd have good years, and bad years, but never diagnosed. I just came to a point in my life, where someone is making me feel so anxious, and so critical of me. If he werent my daughters father, I would not have to deal with him at all. I am hoping for positive outcomes. The social worker I spoke to is so eager to talk to me. He thinks I'm an interesting case. HMMM. ha ha.
Thanks for listening.:)

I was nervous too when I first started on the meds. You'll want to smile though when people start commenting on the changes in you. Really does help out. Doesn't make the problems go away, but makes them a little easier to handle. Feel free to email me if you like.

That is kind of odd Rebel. lol Tell Xandra I know how she feels right now. Good to know she's starting to laugh again. :)

This thread hasnt been active in a while. I hope you stop by, Jazz, cause I want to tell you how much better I feel. I have been smiling at people. Things that were the end of the world for me to deal with have become manageable. Its great. I have been out walking, and feeling better about me. If I had only known. In the beginning it was kind of weird. I felt good, but was waiting for the feeling to end as it has so many times in the past. But so far so good. Just wanted to keep you updated, and see how things are going for you now that you changed to paxil.

That's great D2girl!! Glad you're feeling better. I switched from paxil to zoloft. Doing pretty good. Have noticed the weather having an affect on my moods the past couple of weeks. Much better when the sun is out. Looking into that.

Last night was a full moon, and for the first time since starting on zoloft, I was feeling pretty down. The only thing I can account it to is the full moon. A friend of mine, (who is not taking anything, and has no history of depression) was also feeling pretty down yesterday. Have you ever noticed anything like this?
Maybe you have SAD, (seasonal affective disorder). The sun has something to do with the seritonin levels, and some people have these lamps that simulate the sun.

I wish only the best for you Jazz and D2.. I really don't know what to say except hang in there and even though I can't say that "I understand"..I will say that you both will be in my thoughts.

Thanks, Lost.
It sucks sometimes. Especially when I remember back to a time when I was on top of the world, and no one could knock me off. Just too much "stuff" happened in the past three years, its going to take some time to sort it all out, and when you are depressed it takes all your energy just to get up in the morning, much less deal with issues. Taking zoloft, though, has made it possible for me to start to deal, and even though its a long road ahead, I feel that there is hope. I thank you for keeping me in your thoughts, it really does help. :)

You know, for the first time in over a week, have I felt that I had the energy to do the necessary things in my life. I have no idea on how long this will last so I will take advantage of every moment that it does indeed last.

It has been truly a tough couple of weeks that I have dealt with. With having to deal with the loss of a relative, no good news from my attorney and even worse news from my mother, I did not know how long that I would be able to make it.

Hopefully, this feeling of happiness will last for a while.
