Didja know Madonna will be eligible for the Rock-N-Roll hall of fame in 2009.
Her song "Fever" was originally done by Peggy Lee and the song she did on "A Very Special Christmas","Santa baby" was originally done by Etta James. Judging by that and the fact she looks like Marilyn Monroe at times, I'd say she is a fan of the 50's the way we love the 80's.

She's basically disowned her performance in "Who's That Girl?".
She regrets recording "Like A Virgin" and "Material Girl".
She hosted the first episode of the 1985-1986 season of "Saturday Night Live", and she was made fun of on SNL in the 84-85 season's Michael McKean/Chaka Khan episode (she was portrayed by cast member Pamela Stephenson as promoting navel accessories while performing "Lucky Star"). She also appeared on the first episode of the 86-87 season of SNL, reading an announcement that the previous season was all a dream. Other appearances on the show saw her playing Linda Richman's (Mike Myers) friend on "Coffee Talk" alongside Roseanne and a Barbra Streisand cameo, and her own tribute to Sinead O'Connor ripping up a photo of the Pope (in Maddy's case, she ripped up a photo of Joey Buttafuco).
