View Full Version : Ty's Works
Tydestra 8-02-00, 12:33 PM Hehehe, I said I was going to do it... here's some of my stuff. Hence you'll see why I was dubbed the Queen of Morbid in High School...
This one is one of my personall faves, written around halloween, a vampire poetry contest amoung friends... and it rhymes too... I dont do that alot:
Untitled
Come to me, little mortal,
Let me show you Heaven's portal.
There'll be no sorrow, there'll be no pain,
A sense of joy will fill your brain.
Come to me, sweet human thing,
Give me your heart, I'll make it sing.
Give me your fears, leave them behind,
Forget the troubles of your kind.
Come to me... yes, that's right,
Now hold still, no need to fight.
It's too late now, no time for crying,
I took your blood and left you dying.
This one I wrote for school, when it was about to end... they didn't like me much when the school saw it... not that they liked me much anyway...
Abandon Hope
As the final year of high school ends for the clss of 2000, I am reminded of a quote:
It gets worse from here.
It was uttered by a great man, I forget who, when things were about to get worse. And although it is hard to believe, I'm afraid that this quote is deadly serious for those leaving J.K.O.
As soul destroying and intellect crushing H.S. was, it was only a taste of what the working world has lying in wait for us. At least, as we battled our way through the cruelity of our peers and the stupidity of our teachers, we knew that our time was limited to four to six years.
Now many of us will find ourselves dumped into the even hotter frying pan that is College and they the flesh charring fire that is permannet employment. At this stage we lose not only our hope, but also our souls. They defeat us not by killing us, but by turning us into blank-eyed drone in the teeming ant hill of life.
I bid high school a fond, and therefore tragic farewell.
And I leave you with that... /ubb/smilies/smile.gif
Tell me what you people think...

Tydestra 8-02-00, 04:40 PM I was the Queen of my school... no one missed with me, with the exception of a foolish freshman every fall...
I remember when the issue in Columbine happen, the next day, everyone was looking at me funny... and started some B.S. my way.
The very next day, I came in, full trench and suit case... w/ my t-shirt that said: "Don't Piss Me Off... I'm Running Out Of Places To Hide The Bodies"
/ubb/smilies/laugh.gif Everyone, including my friends slamed up against the wall when they saw that...

Roemello 8-02-00, 05:17 PM Oh man! Your devious mind works so much like mine it's not funny! Only difference is, I normally don't act on my fiendishly creative thoughts /ubb/smilies/smile.gif Usually I coerce someone else to perform them /ubb/smilies/laugh.gif
I don't think no one in my class really missed me either...most of my friends in high school were in the class ahead of me. The majority of my class was kind of snobbish and can you imagine, too vain for even me! So I abandoned most of them /ubb/smilies/laugh.gif
I knew I wouldn't get much of a pop with them jabroni's at graduation, so I had a ton of people I knew go...I got my huge pop, took a bow and confused the hell out of 'em /ubb/smilies/laugh.gif Did that same thing at the senior show one year...I was the soundman/roadie for this band. When I came out on stage, I got a bigger pop than the band /ubb/smilies/laugh.gif

Tydestra 8-02-00, 05:21 PM Well, I interupted my grad, when the stupid school song came on, it stopped... mid that boring song and Bon Jovi's "Its My Life" started to blast...
I like to do evil stuff by my own hand... my teachers HATED me... especially the admistrative officers. I told them off so many times I forgot to count!

Tydestra 10-26-00, 09:18 PM New work by me...
Bit by bit of sand,
Tic by tock of clock.
The desires to cheat Death,
For all agree that Death is wrong.
But has anyone ever thought of Death's wishes?
Hers, His, Its?
A being feared,
Robed in utter darkness.
Not good nor evil.
The duty a daily scarfice.
The burden of teaching the souls anew,
Weak, depressed and angered souls,
By its demise from its shell it one possessed.
Death, who sees not a day's rest,
Nor a century worth of vacation.
Timeless, changeless.
No joy,
Except in the reunification of loved ones.
Pain,
In being the wedge that drives some lovers apart.
Loner. Misunderstood. Unbiased,
Comes to one and all at some point.
Nothing.
Utter indifference to the madness of soul's scarlet twins who runs pink down its white cheeks.
Darkness so cold,
Perfection nonetheless.
Memories a flash of light that weakens the soul.
Death,
No more, no less.
Yet is now and forever one's only truth within the live maze of lies.

If it weren't for my horse, I would have never spent that year in college!
Tydestra 4-26-02, 02:58 AM Hmmm, I've found like a bunch of un-ended quotes and poetry in this book when I was cleaning out my book closet
Yeah, I have a book closet... doesn't that just reek of NERD?
Anyway, here's 2 of my recent findings, I'll post more later on :)
~Sleep~
Close my eyes and sleep they say
For rest is what I need to be normal again.
Sleep and miss the world in it true form
Unguarded and true
The stars and Moon opened like the child’s full of wonder.
Close my eyes and dream
Of how things could be
This is what you they to me
Rather trace my future on the stars
With the glow of the candle by my side.
Sleep like a child in Mother’s embrace
And miss out seeing her face embraced by the stars I think not
Nothing ever good goes on during the night they say
Calling out foolish warning
Like strange things don’t happen in the day.
For the truth is
Some of us were made to walk on the Sun
While the rest are destined to be Star walkers.
Rather jump naked in a Moon-lit pool
Than sun-bathe by the sea.
I choose to spend the night with my friends
Let them be near or far
Looking at the same Moon or watching the Sun
For all the good truly lies in the night.
For all freedom is born to the dark
Rather be wicked in the darken alley
Than good in the open field.
Sleep if you will
I’ll pass.
For there is games and other things calling out to me tonight.
Here's a quote... done by me for my never ending RPG (Role Playing Game) character for the VtM (Vampyre the Masquerade) game:
"No one commands me. No man. No God. No Elder. No Prince. What is a claim of age for ones who are Immortal?
What is a claim of power for ones who defy Death?
Call your damnable hunt. We shall see whom I drag screaming to Hell with me."
:)  :witch:
Those were both great Ty! I like what you have to say about sleep, but I especially like the quote! :thumb:

Instead of starting a whole new thread... I'll just add more of my stuff here.
A quote:
To those that say that thou isn't normal,
yet proudly confess and display themselves as such;
do not exist. There is no normal.
For those who say that we are children of chaos and crazy,
and proclaim themselves as children of order and sanity,
are our brothers, for order married chaos
and they gave birth to the world;
where all and one are crazied.
Therrall 5-25-02, 06:18 AM WOW! That's a Powerful Quote  I like it a lot :)
Gimme more:mwaha: MORE!
Of course we're all crazy!! :hammer: :goofy:
Tydestra 5-28-02, 04:46 AM Posted this in Pagan's thread.. though I'll share the wealth
~Untitled (cause I can't remember the title I gave it)
Go and huddle you all in fear
Call the arms and chase us out
Your foolish lies, your illogical ideas.
"Burn the Witches" you tell your sons and daughters while they sleep linking the past to the future
Passing on your ignorance
For all your ill wishes, your ill fated attempts to burn us all
From the ashes of your hated we shall always rise
Higher than your closed mine will ever let you do
For damned that we may be by your word
Blessed and gifted beyond you we all are
For our hands are free, our thoughts are clean
Hunted and burned your neighbor out of spite, now who is damned?
Took your God's duty into your mortal hands
Who is on the darken path?
Can you sleep at night? With the screams of today's burning echoing in your head
Did you do right, did you save your soul?
Or did you damn it all?
For all your good, in one second to hell you vanish yourself
Eternity in pain
For you hunters have died with the ages
We still dance, celebrate the Goddess, worship what we will
Live and free we be
And when our time comes, in Summer Land we all will be
Still celebrating, happy and free.

Tydestra 9-28-02, 01:11 AM I sent this to Mika and she said I should post it, alas... here it is.
This steams from the books by Dara Joy, the Sci-Fi novels that take place in Avaria, Mytal (land of the Familiars) Noche is a half Avarian, half Familiar (Familiars are people of high senses, with the ability to change form into that of a cat) woman who was raised on earth without knowledge of who she was and were she comes from. This story picks up in the Hall of Avarian Knights, where Noche’s powers, knowledge and life are questioned, what proceeds is her memories…
Prelude: Outskirts of Tunnel Paths, 6th Planetary Rim, 18 years ago.
“How did you find me here? I told the Sages and the Guardian of the Mist to make sure of your safety You should have not followed me, especially with the child, its too dangerous” spoke Nestiera’s mate Azulorados, a 5th level Charl Mystic of the land of Avaria, in Avarian. “Do you forget that I am Familiar my Tajan? I could find you anywhere in the worlds. I refused to stay home, in fear of what can happen to you, our destiny was joined the day we mated. Thus your destiny is mine, as is Noche‘s, our child,” replied Nestiera, her blue and silver eyes gleaming, in Mytalian, the language of Familiars. She looks down on the small child in her arms, barely 4 yrs of age and sleeping. Azulorados reaches out, cupping his mate’s face in one hand, while the other caress the cheek of his sleeping daughter, his purple eyes sparkling with his Avarian powers. “You know very well from the start what the House of Sages asked of me, Nestiera, this is no simple Avarian Knight mission, this is very dangerous and I left you in Mytal because I knew you were safest there.” The sleeping child moves, starting to awaken to the sounds and the movements of her parents. She opens her eyes slowly, her silver/purple eyes inherited from her parents still sleepy.
“Mama? Have we found Papa yet?” questions Noche telepathically her mother. “I am here my taja,” replies her father out loud, his eyes worried. “Papa!” cries out the child happily, jumping down from her mother’s arms into that of her father, hugging him tightly, small sparks flying around her. “Mama was so worried, she said she couldn’t find you that something was going to happen that she can feel it. Oh, Mama was so sad Papa, she was crying a lot. She looked so sad, but I cheered her up, I made the tricks you showed me and I changed in my cat form and I played with Mama. That made her smile,” says Noche rapidly out loud, her child voice like a song. Azulorados smiles, hugging his daughter tightly, pulling his mate into his arms as well, “Ah, my loves, what will I ever do without you?” he whispers, kissing his daughter’s cheek, turning then kissing his wife.
“Care to find out Avarian, how life without them will be like,” spoke a dark menacing voice besides them. Azulorados and Nestiera both turn, her clutching her daughter to herself. “How sweet, and sickening. Since when does an Avarian Knight takes his family with him to his death?” speaks Roctoran, a 6th level Charl Mystic from Avaria, who was banished for his evil use of his power. “Yaniff sent you to search the crystals, and you’ve found them. Give them to me and I may let you 3 live,” he says, laughing darkly, thinking how he’s going to kill Azulorados first, then have his way with his Familiar wife. Azulorados and Nestiera both read his thoughts, Azulorados pulling his wife and child behind him. “Nothing is going to happen to you and the babe Nestiera, I will never let anything happen to either one of you. But you must make your way back to Mytal, he was right when he said that you are not safe here, nor is Noche. Heed my words my love, go back to Mytal and wait for me there,” speaks Azulorados to Nestiera’s mind. She shakes her head no, as does Noche, both of their voices echoing in his mind. “I didn’t come this far to turn away from you now, I stay for what happens, I can help you,” she says, while Noche’s voice echoes in both their minds. “Mama is right Papa, we came from very far to find you, and we’re staying. Mama can help as so can I. Remember how you tell me that I’m very strong, that the Gift and Avarian powers in me make me very strong. I can help you Papa against that bad man.”
Roctoran laughs, reading Noche’s thoughts easily enough, since she is too young to know how to block them totally. The ground around them crackles with his power, his voice booming. “Enough chat between you and the women Azulorados. Give me the crystals and I may let you live.” Azulorados stares down Roctoran, his eyes brightening with his Charl powers, “No you leave Roctoran, turn back, come back to the House of Sages, mayhap we may be able to help you. I don’t what to fight you, not here, not now.” Roctoran smiles, his eyes lightening up with his stronger powers, the sky and ground between both Charls crackling with held powers. The sky darkens, as the winds around them rises, whipping both of them. “Fight me, you? You are nothing but a weak 5th level mystic, must I remind you that I trained you child?” hisses Roctoran, he opens his palm, releasing a huge blacken bolt of power towards Azulorados. “Give me the crystals or die,” he says to Auzlorados, who moved away from the bolt of Roctoran’s powers. “Battle then, I was given a mission, I will carry this out to the end,” says Azulorados. He sends out purple blots of power, sending them hurling towards Roctoran. He opens his hands, taking Azulorados blots into his hands, laughing. Azulorados’ eyes open wide, never seeing another Charl takes in the power of another Charl like that before. He steps back, issuing a warning to Nestiera’s mind; “Leave now! Open a tunnel point to Mytal now, this is going to be a battle, I don’t want you nor the child to be hurt.” Nestiera’s eyes open wide, watching the battle between her mate and the dark Charl; she nods, starting to open a point in to tunnels. Roctoran senses this, closes the point before it even opens, he replies to Nestiera’s mind. “Leaving so soon Lady Nestiera? Leaving your Tajan so quickly?” Azulorados sends out another bolt to Roctoran, which once again he catches quickly and hurls it back to him again, this time laced with his powerful blacken bolts. Azulorados sees this, in shock; he turns and grabs his Taja and daughter pushing him to the ground. “Here, take this Nestiera. These are the crystals he wants,” he places the pouch in Nestiera’s hands, while pulling from his neck a chain, another crystal, twice the size and warm from its power, hanging from it. Puts it around Noche’s neck, watching her small eyes washed in fear. “Don’t worry, Papa will be fine, just stay down and away from harm,” leans down, kissing her daughter on her eye lids, her cheeks and forehead, hugging her tightly, knowing it may well be for the last time. Looks at Nestiera’s eyes above Noche, blocks this message from Noche, speaking to his wife, knowing what she sees and what he knows. “She carries the red stone, that is the crystal that give the rest their power. If anything happens to me…” he says breaking off, his eyes worried. Nestiera’s eyes water, knowing very well what must be done. Opens hidden portal beneath Noche, kissing her daughter’s tears away, hugging her tightly for the last time, for the last time. “We have to do it, what we talked about. I thought it will not come to this, but I sense it, my death, you know all Familiars can do this. I sense yours also. I will not live without you, Noche is Gifted, beyond all known Familiar, Avarian knowledge. I will not allow her to suffer, to become someone’s pawn.” Roctoran approaches, his power encircling his palms. “So be it, you all die, I’ll just pry the crystals from your dead bodies,” he says, sending out his full power, hurling towards them all. Azulorados stands in front of them, taking the brunt of Roctoran’s powers, he himself sends out a barage of magick which do nothing more than stratch Roctoran, Azulorados sucks in his breath, feeling his enemies killing blow as it rips through him in pain, feeling it reach Nestiera, feeling her hand encircle his as they both watch the portal take in Noche, which they both put to sleep. Tears cover their eyes, the pain of the lost of their daughter, of what will become of her without them nothing compared to the pain of their death. “Together, now always and forever my beloved,” they both say with their last breaths.
This is just the beginning of it, if you people like it... I'll post the rest

Shortie Blonde 9-28-02, 11:14 AM I'll read it in a few...lunch time. ;)
Me likes sci fi. Just can't write it. Lemme rephrase that.......I looooooooooooooooove sci fi. :D
Tydestra 10-09-02, 01:21 AM This is another short story that Im working on. I write weird, as my teach once told me. I write bits and pieces instead of just straight from start to finish. The 1st part is somewhere near the beginning the and the second bit is more towards the middle. Anyways, here I go.
Velvet stood at the porch of the house, high alone the cliffs facing the sea and surrounded within deep darkness even though the sun was just setting down. She watched the patterns of lights dancing around the house, safeguards set by the inhabitants inside. Velvet took a deep breath and became mist at will, she moved thru the door and returned to her shape. She turned back to the door and set up the safeguards that once stood there and reinforced them. She walked around the house remembering small details of the time she spent here. She made her way upstairs and set down her bag and watched the sun disappear from the sky. She showered and changed, made herself invisible once more and made her way downstairs as Lucian, his brother Gabriel and their life mates rose from their sleep.
Lucian and Gabriel sensed the change in their home Gabriel and his mate staying a small time with his brother and his mate. They bade their life mates Jaxx and Francesca to stay deep in the protective earth. They made their way outside and still their life mates rose, each one going to their mates. “I sense something but cannot place it,” spoke Gabriel. “I know, even as I slept besides Jaxx I felt it,” replied Lucian. In her mist form, if Velvet were able to laugh she would have done so. She came back into her solid form, an impish grin of a bad child on her face as she started to laugh. “Those were some safeguards,” she said. “I think you two have become sloppy at your old, old ages.” The two ancient powerful Carpathians males turned, their deep eyes wide as they stared at her. Velvet! Did you know not the danger you placed your self in? We thought a powerful vampire was trying to break our safeguards. Both spoke into her mind at once. Velvet smiled, her voice soft and childlike. “Don’t worry. I doubled the safeguards when I came in, and yes there are vampires in the area, along with the mortal hunter of your people. I was in the city and I felt your presences; its been a long time since I’ve seen you four so I thought it would be good to come say hi.” That and finish something I started in another city. I am back to hunting the undead, not by choice but destiny. I’ll explain later I don’t want to worry Francesca and Jaxx, not when they are with children. I also came to help with that, with what I can. How are things among your people? She spoke softly, using the mind link she had with the centuries old Carpathian males. Turning to Francesca and Jaxx as they walked into the room, she smiled softly, greeting them. She placed her hands over their stomachs, feeling the new life growing inside them both. “I think congrats are past due, so I’ll head into to letting you both know that I scared the big bad legendary hunters,” she said, smiling. “Velvet, by gods how you’ve grown,” exclaimed Jaxx. “You are right,” replied Francesca, stepping back and looking at Velvet over again, she nods agreeing with Jaxx’s comment. “Of course I have, last time I saw any of you was in L.A., I was what? 14? It’s been 6 yrs, which to you all is like days.”
Both Carpathian watched Velvet, seeing the changes that six years has had on her. She was taller, having grown into the curves of that a grown woman. She radiated happiness and youth, but looking at her eyes, deep luminous violet, they spoke of another story. Gabriel and Lucian both know very well the hardships and traumas Velvet has gone thru. Her strength alone marks her out of a crowd, mortal, young she risked her life for both them and their life mates and for that alone she is a trusted friend. They watched over her as a child, a gifted child from their very homeland. Both think farther back, to when they saw her as a babe, just 5 of age, before the invasion of their beloved Carpathian mountains that sent them both on their centuries long darken path.
Velvet was last of the Gypsy people, shape-shifters that lived not too far from the Carpathians within those mountains. They shared the land and a respect for each other’s ways but never really had contact with one another. When the invasion from the North came, many Carpathians lost their life trying to protect the only mortals they had respect for and under the selfsame reason, many of Velvet’s people died trying to protected them. Velvet’s parents were the most gifted spell casters among the people; with their last breath they placed their only daughter in a protective encasing. It must have been the discharge of energy in the air, but unknown to them, the spell send the child into present time. She spent her childhood bouncing in the country child-welfare system, from house to house, city to city until she turn 12 and the family that she was living in found out the strange talent she had and forced her out into city streets of L.A. She started performing simply magic acts and reading of fortune to get enough money to eat. Lucian met her one night when he was hunting down a vampire that was in the area. The vampire, sensing the girl’s psychic powers made her way to her. Lucian caught up with the vampire as it went to attack the girl, but she stood her ground.
He killed the vampire and went to make sure the girl was safe. He lost blood in his battle and reached down to the girl who in her state of shock has passed out. Lucian was bending his mouth to her neck when the girl vanished out of his arms and a small black wolf stood near him growling with small glistening fangs. He reached out into the girl’s mind, thinking he had found a lost Carpathian female, but the girl was mortal. That he was most certain of, the wolf was low to the ground, its violet eyes starting up at him as it was studying him. You’re not a vampire, but yet you are like that thing. What are you? Lucian’s eyes opened wide. You can communicate in this matter child? He studied the small wolf, and started to walk towards it, instead of running at him, the wolf shimmered and once again the girl stood up. “I asked first. And in case you haven’t noticed, the answer is yes,” Velvet replied. “You’re not a vampire. You are too strong to be one,” she said extending her hand. “I’m Velvet.” Lucian took the girl’s hand and felt the rush of power flowing throughout her he smiled softly. “You are right, I am not a vampire I’m Carpathian and my name is…”
Velvet’s eyes lit up. “Lucian. You’re Carpathian. Wait, I’m rushing this, maybe I should tell you who I am, or better yet, let you see.” Lucian stood still as her memories flashed through him, he now knew that she was the past, he went to console her about her parents her people but she stopped him. “Don’t, I hate crying in front of people,” she said softly. “You’re living on the streets?” he asked with disgust. “I spend my night as a cat, so that I don’t have to worry much. That vampire caught me off guard; I’m usually not in human form when I sense them.”
2nd part coming up
Jazzmyn 10-09-02, 01:27 AM Love it Sis!!!! very good. :)
Tydestra 10-09-02, 01:59 AM Now this is further on in the story... more middlish :)
Thanks Sis!
The Carpathians were out in full force; the evil essence of the undead was close by. The master vampire that has helped in the destruction of their lives and has caused Velvet so much pain in her life was out there somewhere, he has spread his power everywhere, so it was harder to place it and locate it. There is something all to wrong with this. It just doesn’t feel right, its too spread apart, I don‘t like this one bit. Velvet’s voice echoed across the land, touching the mind of Lucian and Gabriel first. Then the minds of the other powerful Carpathians that were hunting the very powerful vampire named Azul. We all sense it; you are not the only one Velvet. Gregori’s voice replied. I have the house well guarded trust me all in this. Nothing would come to harm your mates, if you guys would have let me finished what I’ve started, it is my battle. If anything comes to pass, I offer my assistance, whatever that may be. Now keep me totally informed, your mates are restless, thou they baby me as a child, they think to…
The attack on the house came quick and fast cutting the mind link between her and the Carpathians. Lucian, Gabriel, Mikhail, Gregori, Adian, Julius, and Darius stopped breathing for a heartbeat. They automatically brushed their mind against their mates, and they were fine. Somehow, Velvet, the most powerful human physic they have ever known coaxed them all into a deep sleep. Once they were sure of their safety, they turned their attention to Velvet. I’m fine, really. This attack wasn’t him. I believe he has minions near. I will deal with them; the safeguards on the house are plenty are some of my strongest. They will hold and I am the fort, so they would have to go through me first. Velvet wished herself outside, placing a safeguard everywhere on and about the house. She turned softly, sensing the disturbance nearby and tried to locate. She duck and moved out of the way just as the first vampire stuck out at her, hissing with its eyes bright red flames. As she moved, the second vampire slammed into her, going automatically to her neck, Velvet made herself into mist and moved away from him to watch the vampire slam into the ground. In her shape, she studied the vampires; both working together was something she has never seen. She materialized a few inches from them, circling them as she watched them. They turned at her hissing and at once her mind was attacked with the fastest and strongest of mind compulsion. She laughed and waved them away, turning the compulsion against the vampires themselves.
The ground started to shake, opening with giant rodents and insects making their way towards her. The vampires attacked again, and she was ready. She ducked and leaned upward, digging her open palm into the chest of the first vampire and removing its still pulsing heart. It screamed and hissed, its blood pouring in arches. When she turned to the second vampire, it slashed at her, raking her skin with four ragged talons. She stepped back and clutched at her side, she moved less quickly as her blood poured down the left side of her side and down her leg. Velvet growled in pain and turned, catching the vampire from behind and turned him, he struck again at her arm but she ignored it. She ripped her fist into his chest and pulled his heart out as she did the first. She tossed it aside and called unto the storm. The light started to flash, lighting collecting in the clouds and she sent the slamming into the earth, hitting the hearts of the vampires and their prone bodies. Again and again the bolts of lightening struck the ground, cleansing it of the poisonous blood of the undead. She reached her hands out as a light flame appearing around her hands, cleaning her of the stained blood of the vampires.
Velvet looked down at her wound and hissed, the claws of the vampire struck deep and her side was seeping blood, it soaked her shirt and made her falter a step. She clean out her wound, closing the cuts quickly so that she wouldn’t bleed so much Velvet thought to get her wound cleaned and healed by Francesca, Gabriel’s mate was one of the best healers in the house. You are hurt. Lucian’s voice echoed in her mind. Its nothing major, just a scratch, do not worry about it. They were working together, that was something I never seen. They were being controlled by the master vampire, weren’t they? Velvet replied, making her way softly back to the house. Gabriel’s voice answered for his brother. Let Francesca heal you, you’re starting to falter Vel, be careful. Velvet smiled, shaking her head at the twins and to dissipate the fog of pain in her mind. I'm cool. Gods, you guys sound like my older brothers, how I feel sorry for your little girls when they are born. Don’t do this, don’t do that, Velvet whispered mimicking their voices. I have to make sure I live to give those girls their wild streak. Teach them how to get away with bloody murder with you two. Cause you two as parents are going to be very boring. She replied to them softly, laughing in their minds. Velvet was making her way back to the house when she was first hit; all she caught was the soft ‘whiz’ of the bullet as it slammed into her right shoulder. She cried out in pain and tried to turn into mist but she couldn’t. Velvet turned around and tries to touch the minds of who or what was shooting at her.
Four human vampire hunters, they were shooting at her from four different points on the clearing. Their combined thoughts on taking her down so that they can study her sicken hurt. They thought that vampires were evil; they thought that she was a vampire. They even thought that killing her straight out so that they could storm the house and take Desiari, Tempest, Francesca, Alexandria, Savannah, Jaxon and Raven. That thought cleared her mind and thou the pain was slamming into her, Velvet straighten up and smiled. She laughed, sending her mocking laughter into their minds. Come and get me if you can, you think that a little bullet is going to take down such an evil vampiress as myself? I think not. Velvet smiled; with her words she sends out a compulsion to make them put down their guns. The essence of the vampire hunting her brushed against her mind, the human hunters was his puppets. Four more appeared behind her and all started shooting. Velvet pulled out into a full run, bullets flied over her and whizzed in front and behind her. One slammed into her left shoulder and she missed another step. One more grazed her injured side and she saw stars. One hit her flat in her back and she fell down, blood pouring out of her wounds. The wolves cried, their howls filling the air.
At the house, Jaxon woke up, her heart slamming. Lucian, Velvet is hurt. I have to help her. With her words, the rest woke; they were restless with worry for their mates and Velvet. Velvet? Velvet? Jaxon reached out for her and felt her pain. Jaxon walked towards the door when Velvet’s voice slammed into her. Where are you going? Lucian will have my head if anything happens to you. You stay put I am serious Jaxon. It is too dangerous in here. Jaxon moved and paced. You are shot Velvet, I used to be a cop, and I know what I’m saying. You need help cause with all your power you are still mortal. Velvet groaned and sat up. I’m not Carpathian, but not exactly mortal Jaxon. Stay, they are making their way towards me, I’m just lying in wait. The hunters moved softly, gloating that they took the vampiress down with the special bullets that they were given. Velvet stood still, barely breathing, the poison running throughout her system quickly. She reached out to the wolves and the panthers inside the house. Help me. I need your strength to aide me. I need you all, thou I know I am not your owners; I will make sure that you all are safe. . Lucian’s wolves cried to her, in their howls they gave her their agreements and they set out to surround her. Sasha and Forrest, the panthers belonging to Desiari and her brother rushed out, moving around the wolves to protect her. The wolves know this place better; you two stay near the house. Protect the women inside. I’ll have the wolves lead me. Be safe and stay clear, they will shoot at you, since they think that I can control animals too. All of you be safe, cause you don’t belong to me and I wouldn’t like to see you injured. Do I make myself clear? The wolves and the panthers made their sound of content, the panthers moved back to the house, watching over it as the wolves spread out, covering the ground quickly.
Velvet lay motionless, her mind was murky from the pain but she called upon the storm. Making the sky dark and dangerous, the lighting flashed again, as the rain started to pour making it hard to see. They moved less sure, trepidation washing over them. The wolves attacked quickly taking down two of the hunters down as some shots rang out. Velvet blocked the bullet and the wolf laid stunned for a second.
The earth rumbled beneath her and a dark odious figure loomed over her. “Velvet.” The vampire smiled in victory. Velvet tried to sit up and move away but the vampire reached for her, lifting her off the ground with ease. “At last you are mine, your powers, your strength, your beauty. All mine and for the taking.” Velvet tried to pull herself out of his grasp. “You are a fool Azul. You couldn’t get me when I was young and you waited until I was shot at to make your grab at me. Do you fear me so much that you take advantage of me when I’m weak?” The vampire dug his claws into her throat, cutting out her breath. “Silence, for too long you’ve lead me on this chase. You’re alone and no one can help you, you are now mine. The Carpathians that you are protecting cannot do anything to help you; their mates are too far to rescue you. You are mine.” The creature released her for a moment, keeping his grip on her arm. The image of a hunter behind came into view and she smiled. The hunter shot a multitude rounds off as Velvet pulled the vampire into the line of fire. It hissed and screamed at the poison of the bullets exploded in him, he reached back and raked at her, his talons ripping into her throat. Velvet fell back as another wolf took down the hunter. The lighting started to fall to the ground in giant clasps, the sound of the hunters screaming echoed in her ears as if from far away. She was covered in blood and was dying, at last peace.
Everything is safe. I can rest now. Velvet’s voice whispered around the room. Jaxon sat up. Velvet. Don’t you die on me girl! Stay focused you have to live girl. You’re too strong to die on me, on us! Jaxon said to her, keeping her mind in Velvet. She shivered at the amount of pain Velvet was in. She reached out to Lucian and he replied before she said anything. I know I saw everything. We are making our way back. The safeguards she placed were strong, but the vampire struck from above. She is dying and neither Gabriel nor I will allow it. Lucian commanded the wolves to surround Velvet as he and his brother made there way to her. He spoke quickly to the other Carpathians. My brother and I will see to her, see to that the women are safe. “She is dying brother, we al feel it. She did not allow your mate to come out and rescue her. We are in so awe of her powers that we did not foresee this. She is still human, shape shifter and all she is human. If you get there in time it still may be too late. She would have been the brightness to one of us, as strong and willed as she is, Velvet would have saved one of our kind from turning,” he said quickly. Lucian nodded, moving with speed unseen to where his brother was. He was at her side, his face dark. “She is fading. We cannot heal her wounds; the only thing we can do is try to convert her. But our blood won’t do. I don’t know if all of our blood can save her. She is far gone,” Gabriel said. Lucian reached down and pulled Velvet into his arms and wished himself into the house, he placed her down on a bed as all the others surround him.
“If we are to do this, we do it now. She is still strong and it would work,” Gregori said softly. Lucian looked at his younger brother. “We cannot do this without her consent. I shall reach into her and ask her,” he said as his mind reached out and touched her mind. He saw the pain flowing over her.
Velvet. If you can hear me, your wounds are too deep and are too many. You are dying. It is best if we start a conversion once we heal your most important injuries. Gregori and Savannah will do the best they can. He said softly, waiting for her reply. What if I wish death? The end to this pain Lucian? I don’t feel anything right now; expect your pain, your guilt and the sadness shrouding the others. Why? You shouldn’t feel bad; you did the best you could. Your first duty is to your mate and your people. I’m neither. Gabriel’s mind reached into Velvet. No, you may not be Carpathian but you risked your life for our mates. You have to live for yourself and for your mate. He is out there, in the bleak darkness that we both were until we found our mates. You have to live for him and the children that one day you may give birth too. You’ve always been one of us Velvet. Live for your mate, for yourself and for us. Velvet’s eyes open, they were clouded in pain. “You two just don’t know when to give it up, don’t you? What if I want to die, to end this pain?” She asked, her voice barely a whisper. “You will let some hotshot old vampire and a couple of mortals take you out Vel? From what you told Lucian and he told me, you’ve been through hell girl and you’ve giving up now? And what about the promise you made to me that you was going to help me with the girls? You would leave us Velvet when we all know what you mean to us, what you can do,” said Jaxon. Velvet moved and bit her lip to hold in her pain. “How I hate it when you are right,” she whispered. “Let it be, but if something goes wrong and I turn all crazy vampiress, take me out fast and hard.” She smiled through her pain. “You guys look so worried, don’t be, I have been through darker times,” she said before her eyes closed under the command of Lucian.
Okay, I'm done now.

Tydestra 10-09-02, 05:23 PM Much thanks everyone :* Now, if I can only regain feeling in my finger tips :)
Tydestra 10-17-02, 09:48 PM All of my work has been to happy joy joy for my liking... thought I'll post a little something more morbid from my collection
Rub a little more salt into this wound
For it weeps and cries like I do.
The blade has gotten dull on my skin
And it adds pain that is not needed.
I'll hold on to anything to
Remember that I am still here.
Pain, sweet exquisite pain to remember
How it was to be alive
What it meant to feel
I'll watch this liquid trickle down my skin in rivulets
Black tears I weep
Black tears that flow too freely
Blacken tears that shine red in the light
Black tears to remind
Myself that I am still here
Cause the dead dont bleed anymore
Jazzmyn 10-18-02, 12:27 AM Very powerful Sis. Love it. :)

Barney :vibrator: that was SO uncalled for  I hope you make a wrong turn on your way to Summerland and end up in Heaven :p
Tydestra 10-18-02, 09:57 PM I can't take it,
For the same path down the same street, again and again.
Its so tedious, and maddening,
For I know this, yet I still get lost,
No matter if its dark or light.
Its tripping over the same stone,
Though I swear I've moved it to the side... or I thought I did.
Repetitious knocking of my head against the wall,
Piercing of soul with a poker,
While trying to staple the serpentine fragment of the thoughts together.
Its believed that ones learns from the pain,
But I have yet to see what I am to gain...
Except a road map of scars.
That Guy Next Door 10-19-02, 11:05 AM you know this is one of these very good reasons to just be friend with you .... that and the line in french in your sig .... ah ah ah ah ah ..... felt good to say that one .... anyway ..... - insert cheesy compliment here ! - ( I do not have the strenght nor the will to fill that ! )

Actually, because my mood changes with every bunch of poetry I post, I don't think it should be all merged. Better shown in phases or the way they are already. :)
Tydestra 10-26-02, 03:21 PM You don’t know what to do
Or what you want
You’re sitting in a burning house
And doing nothing as it falls around you
You’re called a fool by all that know you
Letting go of something they knew was good
You thought you were going to be okay
But now you’re feeling it
You’re living the statement
“You don’t know what you had until it’s gone”
It’s weighing you down
Because things aren’t going as planned.
You’ve made your bed
And you lie upon its cold, cold sheets
But you’re a man and this was your choice
Live with it.
Jazzmyn 11-01-02, 01:36 AM Wow. Like that one Sis. Really good imagery. :)
Tydestra 11-01-02, 01:44 AM Thanks Sis... amazing how good my stuff is when I'm wallowing in misery
Tydestra 11-01-02, 09:55 PM I’ve cried my last tear
And drank my last drop
As the sun rises on my still naked form
I realize that you aren’t worth an ounce of my pain
For all your talk and your glittering walk
Truth of the matter is boy
You weren’t man enough for me
I’ll start this day anew with not a single thought spared for you
I will not lie, nor play a farce
The wound lies raw and bare
I’ve had worse done to me chiere
You ain’t the first
But I lived thru them
And I’ll get over you
Time will tell who was right and who was wrong
Cause on a random winter night,
When I lie awake and think of what went wrong
I find comfort in the fact
That you too would lie awake
Thinking what a total fool you are.

Tydestra 11-17-02, 10:58 AM Bind
I take you and bind you
In perfect black and darkness
Never again to see the light of day
Never to burn in its merciless light
I bind you in darkness
Never to feel
Yourself shuddering with racking tears
To never taste yourself on your lips
I banish you to the farthest corner of myself
So deep inside like an abyss
So that never again
Are you exposed to feel yourself ripping in two.
Take with you all your dreams
And wistful desires
To keep you company
So that you won't completely wither and die
Let your serpentine thoughts guide you
Where you think you are going
A prison is a prison
A safety box all the same
I bind you my sacred heart
To part ways with me
Let not your pain
Beat upon me
I do it for sanity
To save my own life
I bind you fair heart
In the blackness
For that you could not see your scars
So deep and far away from me
That your cries and beating
Will cease to exists to me
For I will not
Cannot little heart
Bare see you in such pain

Tydestra 11-21-02, 01:07 AM I know the things you wanted
They're none of what you have
With all the people talking it's driving you mad
No one ever told you how it was going to be
And what would happen to us
We’ll have to wait and see
Cause now you have your head out of the clouds
Both of your feet deep in the ground
You know what you’ve lost
So you don’t walk so proud
Or talk so loud anymore
And what for if you lie there crying
Estranged from the world around you
Don’t hang your head in sorrow
Just think of what you would do if I were standing right in front of you
Take a breath and open your eyes
Would you, could you lie?
Deny your misery
I’ll sing out that I’m fine
What would happen to us baby
We have to play and wait to see.
Jazzmyn 11-21-02, 01:21 AM Great poem Sis. :D
Tydestra 11-22-02, 10:35 PM  I found this with some of my old stuff from HS:
Come to me, little mortal
Let me show you heaven's portal
There'll be no sorrow, there'll be no pain
A sense of joy will fill your brain
Come to me, sweet human thing
Give me your heart, I'll make it sing
Forget your fears, leave them behind
Forget the troubles of your kind
Come to me...yes, that's right
Now hold still, no need to fight
I'll take your blood, and leave you dying
It's too late now, no time for crying
Gods, this so sucks  Every line rhymes... well I did say it was my HS stuff  that explains it :p

Tydestra 11-27-02, 02:31 AM Your eyes are drowning in tears
You're not even an shadow of who you were
You lost it all
Tossed it all away in a roll of a dice
You got your feet planted on the ground
Since you have your head out of the clouds
You’re not in heaven anymore
Welcome to earth
Fallen angel
You lost your wings
To feel and know what it was to be human
Should’ve stayed up and far away
You weren’t ready to deal with the pain
So lost like a child
Alone and confused
When you’re hurting
You never find anyone around you
Gather your broken wings
A reminder of what you were
Things are never going to be the same
You may grow your wings again

Tydestra 12-05-02, 06:39 PM My true and trusted friend
After so long we’re reunited
I have so many stories to tell
Of how life has been without you
How I’ve grown
To despise you
Because I’ve tasted other things
Learned that you spoke both truth and lies
Learned that all return to you
That I am not your only friend
Misery
Like childhood memories you never leave
Like faded scars you’re forgotten but leave a story to be told
Of lessons to be learned
But damned to be repeated cause we never learn
I come back to you a changed being
And what was once an odd comfort that if I felt you everything is still okay
Now your hold is naught but binding
Holding me from the taste of happiness I had
Foolish wasn’t I
To think that I could escape your touch
You’re all I’ve ever know
And I think I shouldn’t strayed far from home
Cause I come back to a cell that I do not know
A darkness and coldness that I have forgot how to live with
Ah my friend misery
I’ve truly changed
Cause afore, when I sought the light thinking it would be my salvation
I come back with burns
Proof that the light burns
At the very least
I have the comfort of being welcomed back
To something I know
With changes I have plenty of time to learn
Jazzmyn 12-06-02, 01:34 AM Like it Sis. :) Very cool.
Tydestra 12-06-02, 03:27 AM A jar of paint lies on the table
As the clown stares into it reflection
Dipping its fingers into the paint
The clown coats the first layer upon its face
Looking back into the mirror
It hardly recognizes its own face
As the clown applies the bright red lipstick against sad lips
It knows it’s hiding, from itself
A second layer of face paint so that the mask doesn’t crack
Under tears shed in midst
Of false enjoyment of life
For a clowns life is all the same
You have to smile
Have to sing thru the cold biting rain
Sing a song so loud
So the masses don’t hear the sound of your heart breaking
Continue moving so that they don’t feel the coldness in you
Huddle against yourself
Oh clown
Puppet of your emotions
You can’t hide them forever
On stage you shall fault
And the truth shone
That you suffer with the rest
Far worse cause your pain is to be forever silent
Except in your eyes
Which you’ve never master how to have that bright radiant smile
Touch those cold lifeless eyes
Tydestra 12-06-02, 09:53 PM A heart that once beat with the joys of life
Lies so still and cold
Rotting from wounds
That never healed
That remained dormant
Just waiting to be released by the stab of a poisoned knife
A bloodstream that roared with vibrate
Is silenced
A steady movement to keep the pace
To inch closer to death
Eyes that sparkled
With the lights of the best of humans emotions
Reflect nothing
But the inner pain of shattered dreams
Hooded and dark
A dimmed light flickering off
Hope lost
Lips that once soft and swollen
Red and tender from passion
Are blue and cracked
Speckled blood in attempts to silent the cries of pain inside
The voice
That laughed, sung and spoke silly notions
Has died away
Into quiet retreated
So that it would spew forth
The truth the body has
Of inner dealings
That cannot been seen

True Rebel 12-07-02, 12:07 PM First I wanna say : I -love- the composition and the style o'this one. :) But it put a shiver up me spine too. Reminds me o'drinking fer some reason.
Tydestra 12-08-02, 12:17 AM This does have a back story, there's this girl I know, younger that me and all she does is complain, bitch and rant on how cruel life is to her. She's a bit crass and uncaring of the dealing and life of others. She needs to grow up
No one cares
I mean this in all truth
You’re still a child
Playing dress up
Would you please grow up?
Hit the books
And the road of life
Get some stories and scars
And then I will listen to you speak
You know nothing of anything around you
Living in your made by MTV and Disney produced reality
You’ll dress and play any part
Just to fit in
No solid foundation
Or convictions
Your words carry no weight
You are not Punk
Nor Goth or anything that passes your lips
Spoiled rotten brat
A monkey can dress in layers of satin
Its still a monkey
No thought of your own
Everyone has control of what you’ll do
Your aren’t grown up
You’re living the “Saved By the Bell” life
A second in the real world
And you’ll be crushed under the weight of your own childish fantasies
With no anchor cause you have no grip on reality
So until the day, you grow some skin
Live a day out of your shell and experience life
Talk not of your sorrows
For mine and others are far worse
Kid must be a real biyatch...Nice ty, you should give her a copy.....

If you've ever been a dedicated drinker - ya start seein th'drink as yer friend, sorta. Now, ya know this friend ain't a good friend. In fact, this friend don't -really- make ya happy [like ya tell everyone they do], but yer drawn to it anyway. It -does- do what it promises [i.e. helps ya forget an escape], but it betrays ya too - because yer relationship with the drink becomes more important than anythin else. An as hard as ya try, an as awful as ya know this relationship ta be, ya need it cause it's all you know. Yer comfortable with it.
Yer poem reminded me of all the times I tried ta drag myself away from it, seein the beautiful things I could have on the other side, but fallin back to "me old friend" again, eventually. This part in particular :
I come back to you a changed being
And what was once an odd comfort that if I felt you everything is still okay

This time round, tho - I think I'm winnin that battle. It's slow goin, but as much as I need it, much as I want it - I want other things more now.

Cara is a multifaceted word that encompasses all tenses and meanings.
ShereKahn 12-11-02, 12:39 AM That was incredible. Makes me want to compose music for it. Trouble is, it unsettles me so much (in a good way) I am not sure how to start. Tell you what though, if I ever do get around to composing something for it, I will send it to you and it is no strings attached. Just mention me at the Grammy's eh? :)

Tydestra 12-17-02, 06:20 AM He is contradiction of man
Harden shell of soft innards
Vile beast at war’s calling
Passionate lover at a women’s bed
He hides behind his madness
Tells his truth in pointless conversations
Misunderstood and detached
He himself thinks that he is dead
For portions of his soul has rotten away
From lack of use.
Wants naught but someone to call his own
A home to lie in
To feel
Multitude of emotions
To be alive
And peace with inner man and beast
I couldn't name this piece, which is about a very sweet friend of mine who's blind like a bat :))

Tydestra 1-15-03, 05:30 PM For those that know my past little issue, you'll see the meaning behind these 2 poems.
~~Part 1~~
You are not even a shadow
Of your former self
Rotten and in tatters
You are naught but a living corpse
I loved you
Hated you
And now I drown in the pity I feel for you
Coward; slave and blind fool
Hate to say…
I told you so
But you cannot help
Those too dumb to ask for help
When they sure as hell need it
Ignorance and arrogance go hand in hand
What the hell is wrong with you?
Keep slamming your head against the wall
Don’t listen to reason
Or your friends
Lamb to your slaughter
You can f*ck up oh so right
Alienate yourself
Try so hard to get that poison
But what the hell should I care?
I do…
Pitiful creature
Your life is a f*cking shame
Its sad to be you
~~Part 2~~
Ah how life changes
You were my life
And when you left me
I lied as in a coma
With wounds I thought will never heal
I woke up
Better and stronger
I woke up to see you
Being broken down by blows
That you don’t want to stop
Fates are bitches
Utterly cruel
What has transpired here now is naught
But a taste of what they have in store for you
Gone is the man who lived
Replaced by a pet of a cruel mistress
Who does nothing but feed you scraps of attention
When she wills it
Classic f*ck up
That is what you are
So pathetic that I can’t even
Fathom enjoying your misery
Poetic justice
Bitter sweet
Blind and deft to everything around you
Tydestra 1-15-03, 05:31 PM The struggle within
It’s a f*cking shame
You are putting the nails into your coffin
Struggle within
Suits you oh so fine
What did you think you were going to find?
Misery… you reek of it
It’s a damn shame
Your life… ruined by your hands
What the hell
Wake up from your prison cell
Someone ought to stake you
Like an old vampire
You’ve lost hold on the world
Struggle with your own hell
No one to blame
Point the finger at your flesh
You sealed your own damn fate
Tydestra 1-15-03, 05:33 PM You will see and understand my worth
All the silly things I did
Will bring a smile to your face
And a jolt of nostalgic pain thru your heart
When I’m gone
The worse moment you ever had with me
You’ll wish to rather be in it
Instead of what you’re going thru now
Cause you will realize
What you are trying to grasp
Isn’t worth an ounce of what you let go
Things will never be the same
Like shattered glass
What is broken cannot be fixed
And when I am gone
Reality will strike you hard
A hard punch laced with the fact
What you have now is not good enough
When you wake up, you’ll learn
I was the one you needed
And so carelessly let go
Tydestra 1-15-03, 05:34 PM I could, I should, I can’t
So I won’t
Tempt not the fates
And pass over the flames
Madness I say
How this came about
Learn from around
Tempt not to alter your reality
But we could
Taste what could have been
Sin… Sin… Sin….
Play with the fire
But try not to embrace it

Prelude - Velvet - Age 10
Carpathian Mountains
The child stood up and walked slowly towards where her parents stood along with the other elders. Velvet looked up at the worried faces of the adults and knew something was wrong. She tugged on the tunic that her father was wearing softly fearing she was interrupting.
“Father?” she whispered and he looked down, picking her up and facing the rest.
“We need to fight for her, for the other children. We cannot let them get to our women and children.” Velvet bit her lip and looked at her mother’s face. She knew something was wrong because her mother’s eyes were bright with unshed tears.
“Mother, what is wrong?” she asked. Her mother took her from her father’s arms and placed her on the floor, taking her hand.
“You are naught but 10 winters old Vel, too young to have to listen to us talk. Go with your brother and your twin sister. Go and play with them and let us be, but be wary of where you go,” as her mother spoke the room shook as flaming arrows broke thru the windows, setting the table alight. Vel looked around in shock as more arrows shot into the room, her father and mother took her by the arms and started running. “Go, move we are under attack!” shouted one of the elders. She ran out with her parents and almost slammed into her brother who was carrying her twin who was bleeding and still.
“Des,” she called after her twin sister, shaking her, knowing how much she hated being called that.
“She’s gone Vel; she was stuck first,” her brother said, “I tried to save her but it was too late, they are moving too fast. Half of the village is on fire and we are falling back.”
Velvet looked as her brother spoke, looked at her twin and looked around, the fires and blood that pooled on the grounds. Her eyes watered as she touched her sister’s cheek.
“We can’t leave her here, you know how she hates being alone,” she whispered her tears falling. She started whispering in the ancient tongue, the last time she spoke the words was when her grandparents died. The ground started to shift under her twin’s body as her parents and brother joined in. They knew she felt the loss more; twins always suffer the loss of their twin more. Her voice got louder as the wind picked up, her parents looked at one another knowing quite well the power that their child had. They never spoke of it with their children, but the elders knew that Velvet was the strongest of their kind borne in ages. The ground shifted again, the body of her twin becoming transparent as she stood up slowly, her voice loud and clear.
“We are of the earth, of the sky, of the water and the fire. Destiny you were one of us too. Rest in peace your essence forever living inside us. Go on and be in peace. All I ask sister…” Velvet’s voice shook, faltering a bit as she took a deep breath before starting again, “…is that you watch over us. Protect us Des.” With the final words spoken, her sister’s body fragmented into light as she fell to her knees, crying and clutching the dirt.
“Why us?” she cried out in anger, seeing the wave of hunters forward. She watched as the fighters of her people fought, some winning and most failing under the onslaught of the hunters.
“We don’t know my daughter, but we have to get out of here. Live to see and fight another day,” said her mother as she clutched her arm and started running. The four of them scampered through the village as it burned down, dodging arrows that filled the sky like a gray cloud. They ran until they reached the outskirts of the village, near the forest where they hunted their food. The forest was burning, having been set aflame by the hunters to close off any escape. The four stopped, short of breath as their eyes watered from the heat of the fires.
“There is no way we can get pass this, they set the whole forest on fire,” wailed Velvet’s mother. “Damn it Celeste, you have to calm down. We will find a way past this, trust in us” he replied.
“Actually, I highly doubt any of you will pass here alive. I will see your kind ashes, you demons,” spoke a man, behind him stood a dozen men in armor with weapons of various kinds.
“We are not demons, you mortals know nothing,” Velvet spat out stepping forward. You people are demons, killing us all for game, out of fear. Well no more. You want demons, well we will show you demons, right Seth?” she said, turning to her brother as he stepped beside her. Her parents, joining their powers to battle when the fire behind died down and on horse came through many men dresses alike, did the same. Velvet turned to battle them when they surpasses her and went unto the mortals. Many of the men on the horses stepped down, fighting with the men on the ground. She watched them sensing that they weren’t mortal.
Could they be the undead that live on the other side of the mountains? They are like vampires, but not they are different. But we stay away from them, and they do the same. I highly doubt they come to save us.
She thought to herself, daring not speak out to bring attention upon her. She let her senses flair out and touch the minds of the two tallest men, trying to answer her own questions. What she sensed is that they too, their kind were hunted down the same.
If we have the same enemy, why have we never joined forces? We knew of each other’s existence but we never spoke. Now we are forced together, because we are hunted alike. Are we so cautious that we ourselves place the world away from us? Placed us in danger out of fear?
She thought again, moving with her parents as the men brought through. They moved back, blocking the blows as best as they all could. Velvet turn around, as voices slammed into her head.
“You can speak like this? Are you Carpathian like us?”
“How can you do this? Are you one of us?”
The two voices slammed into her mind and she looked up, knowing without knowing that they belonged to the two she was looking at. Their voices are so much alike that they could be twins. She turned around, seeking them out as her eyes fell on them. They are twins, she thought as her eyes watered, tears threatening to fall. She shook her head, blocking a hunter as he tried to strike at her. She blocked with ease, a smile on her face as she let her power rush through her, she pushed him back hard as he hit his head on a rock and lied there still. She stopped as she felt her self be taken over as if someone was trying to take over her mind. She realized that she didn’t answer the twins. She blocked them, turning their power on them.
“No I am not, and it is wrong to try to force an answer from someone else. I see why my people cautioned us to stay away from your kind. You people are savages.”
Velvet replied, angrily sending out the reply. She turned as she saw a couple of hunters cornering her father, she rushed at him as one of them struck her father and the reply of one of the twins entered her mind.
“I nor my brother are savages. Aye, I know who you are now. The gypsy shape-shifters, am I not right? You are right, we are so alike and we have avoided one another.”
She shrugged off their voice as she ran, trying to stop the man attacking her father, out the corner of her eye; she saw her mother fall to her knees. Her heart stopped as she watch her father crumple unto his knees also. She realized that she stood still, screaming. She ran after her brother, trying to help him at least as an arrow pierced her arm, the second shot whizzed past her and the end stood quivering, impaled on brother’s chest. He started to fall backwards and she caught him.
“Seth, come on stay with me. I can heal you,” she said, stammering.
“You cannot, these arrows are poisoned. They are meant to kill…” he said his eyes closing as his breath left his body. Velvet closed her eyes, tears falling freely and unchecked. She shook her head; her minds spinning from lose of blood.
“They cannot get to you, they are dead.”
The other twin’s voice whispered into her mind and briefly she had a sense of peace. She opened and saw that her parents lied next to each other and they were trying to move closer. She made her way over to them, helping them lie back against a trunk of the nearest tree.
“Mother, Father, are you okay?” She asked, trying to cover the blood pouring as best as she could. Her father reached up and pushed her back, moving her hand away.
“No, we are dying and the blooded is poisoned from the arrows and the blade. Do not touch us,” his voiced rasped out, barely audible.
“No,” she wailed, moving forward again. “I refuse to lose you both, I am strong, and I know it. I can heal you and don’t care if it harms me.” She replied, her palms being snatched by both her parents as they started to chant.
“What are you two doing? I do not need to be healed,” she said.
“Silent my child. We are going to die so that you can live. Away from here in a better place.”
Her mother whispered softly and she kneeled quietly, listening to her parents as she closed her eyes and felt as if she was falling through space, away from death away from everything. Their words flowed over her.
We wish you away from here. Removed from this all. Power you have, eternal. Beast and woman, gifted child of the earth you are. Live away from here our child. You are our blood and you carry our power.
She felt their grip tighten on her and she opened her eyes and she saw them as if from a distance. “I love you my daughter, live free and know we love you, always loved you,” her parents spoke in unison as they let go of her and closed their eyes.
Blackness took over her, as she felt herself fall away from them, as if she was falling away from the world.
Prelude - Velvet - Age 10
New York City
Velvet sat alone, in the room as the mortal spoke around her. In a tongue she didn’t understand. She was cold and hungry but most of all she knew she was far away from home.
Home? You don’t have one. Your twin sister, your older brother, and your parents are all dead. Your people are all dead, and if they are not do you think they think you are alive? Learn their tongue, their ways. Learn to fit in and be free here, its what your parents wanted.
She closed her eyes and tested to see if she had her powers. She smiled as she felt it go thru her. She let the voices of those around her flow into her as she learned their tongue, their language English. She found out where she was, in a place called America. In a region called New York. In a hospital, in the children’s section because they thought she was an orphan or a runaway. They were ready to run blood tests on her, a way to see what exactly is inside her. She blocked the thought from their mind, knowing that they would figure out that she was different.
Prelude - Velvet - Age 12
New York City
Velvet glared at the humans, her caretakers as they drove her back to the orphanage. The car slammed to a break at the front door as they marched her into the head-masters office.
“We cannot take care of her. She is far unlike other children. We find her speaking to herself in strange languages and I think she is possessed,” said her caretaker Mr. Smith.
“Don’t you think you are being a bit rash Mr. Smith? She is naught but a child, and not from here. Give her time to grow accustomed to our way of life,” replied the head master, trying to sooth the Smiths.
“You do not understand she is possessed I swear by it!” Shouted Mrs. Smith, clutching at the rosary that hung from her ample breast.
They argued back and forth for an hour as she made her way into the living quarters of the rest of the children. Her bed in the far wall, the top bunk by the window stood unchanged exactly as she left it. She started to unpack on the floor, ignoring the other children as their voices swarmed around her.
“I knew you’ll be back, you little freak. Bet you freaked them out didn’t you?” Velvet turned to the voice, a smile on her face.
“Yeah, maybe I did.” Velvet shot back, her head pounding.
“Well I think I get to welcome you back, don’t I?” said the girl, as she made a fist. She was the type that spoke loud. Had a huge bark and a small bite. Nasty attitude especially since everyone feared her except for Velvet.
“I don’t think that would be a good idea, unless you want to start crying again in the nurses office again Tamaqua. Why don’t you leave me alone, I don’t feel well and I don’t want issues with you just yet. Okay?”
The girl laughed and curled her fingers around Velvet neck and tugged, a loud pop sounded as the chain holding a green shaped vial fell unto the bed. Velvet growled low, angry as she saw Tamaqua snatch it off the ground.
“Hey what’s this freak? A gift? Well its mine now.” Her fingers tighten around it, as Velvet turned, her eyes dark.
“Give that back now girl, unless you want trouble.” she whispered, her voice angry. Tamaqua placed the vial under her shoe and laughed.
“Well if you will not share, I think its best if neither one of us had it.” She started to put her foot down as Velvet slammed into her, in one motion putting the vial, which was the last gift she received from her parents on her 10th birthday into her pocket. She rolled with the girl unto she had her on her back. She grabbed a fist full of the girl’s hair.
Her voice was low, no more than a growl as she spoke. “Look, I recommend that you never, ever touch that again. And while we are at it, I recommend you leave me alone.” She stood and brushed herself off and turned back to her stuff on the floor and finished unpacking.

Tydestra 2-08-03, 12:20 AM I slapped this piece together while thinking and posting in the thread Pagan started.
My generation is a crying shame
Our music speaks to the money
Not our hearts, not our minds
We have no battle cry
For there’s no war to fight anymore
We are cattle to the media
Slave to modern trends
We try too hard to be like everyone else
Everything for us is either black or white
There’s no talk about my generation
For we do nothing worth talking about
We take past goals and achievements of other generation
And try to pass it off as our own
We dumb down to fit in
And the word ‘Why’ has no meaning to us
Take everything for granted
Since everything is free
My generation is a ruined
We are leaving nothing for the future
Cause we’re too damn involved with today to even think about tomorrow
Damn Ty, that was deep....I loved it!
Tydestra 2-08-03, 12:54 AM Weird. Freaks. Outcast.
Thus are called those with ideas of their own
Those that embrace individuality
And shun normalcy
Wild beast of man we are
Like those before us
We come with a plan
And an attitude to match
Unlike our peers that rebel without a cause
We have a meaning
Unlike the posers that follow the trends
We stay true to our passions
The relics of the past for we are too cultured to tolerate the garbage made today
More need to wake up and be like us
Then maybe tomorrow with reasoning for being
The revolution needs soldiers
A war worth fighting for
We need to clear our voice
Let it ring out
Let it be heard by those around
There’s hope for this generation
It has to be sought after and found
Another good one Ty, you are on a roll tonight.
Shortie Blonde 2-08-03, 02:56 PM That's really rad. :D

"Father?” she whispered and he looked down, picking her up and facing the rest.
Half of the town is on fire and we are falling back.” Velvet looked as her brother spoke, looked at her twin and looked around, the fires and blood that pooled on the grounds. Her eyes watered as she touched her sister’s cheek.
“How can I help?” she spoke out loud. “You can’t Vel, come on, we have to get out of here,” said her father, picking her up and ran as his son and wife moved after them. Velvet struggled, falling to the ground and ran back lying next to the body of her twin.
They never spoke of it with their children, but the elders knew that Velvet was the strongest of their kind born in ages.
“Why us?” she cried out in anger, seeing the wave of hunters move forward.
We will find a way past this, trust in us” her father replied.
Her parents, joining their powers to battle when the fire behind then died down and on horse came through many men dresses alike, did the same. Velvet turned to battle them when they surpassed her and went unto the mortals.
She thought again, moving with her parents as the male hunters struck forward.
“I nor my brothers are savages.
She shook her head, her minds spinning from loss of blood.
“They cannot get to you, they are dead. My name is Lucian, and my brother‘s is Gabriel, we‘re sorry for you loss.”
The other twin’s voice whispered into her mind and briefly she had a sense of peace. She opened and saw that her parents lied next to each other and they were trying to move closer. She made her way over to them, helping them lie back against a trunk of the nearest tree.
“Mother, Father, is you well?” She asked, trying to cover the blood pouring as best as she could. Her father reached up and pushed her back, moving her hand away.
“No, we are dying and the blood is poisoned from the arrows and the blade. Do not touch us,” his voiced rasped out, barely audible.
“No,” she wailed, moving forward again.
“I refuse to lose you both, I am strong, and I know it. I can heal you and don’t care if it harms me.” She replied, her palms being snatch |
