I'm Baaaaack! I spent the weekend in Tunica and Biloxi Mississippi after a long drive on Thursday that went well until I hit strong wind and rain for the last 60 miles of the trip to Tunica. All you could see was the wind blown leaves, rain, and frogs jumping across the road. Lilly had left some storms behind her and I just happened to run into some of that. We got into our room at about 3:00am for a long needed sleep but the next day turned out much better. We did a little gambling and met up with a couple of Pat Benatar fanclub members. We all met up again at the venue a few hours later and were allowed to listen to the sound check by the band, and given passes to nine of us for a meet & greet 45 minutes before the show where we met up with Pat and had a great rap session with Pat in her dressing room. She told some funny stories about her Hawaiian neighbors, complete with voice impressions. She was a riot to listen to and invited those of us that were going to the Biloxi show to come to the soundcheck there.
Saturday we got up early and headed down to Biloxi and made it in six hours, rested awhile and were back at it again hitting some slots, losing some, winning some and meeting up for the days soundcheck. Pat, Neil and the band had their flight delayed so the soundcheck was up in the air but it got started an hour and a half later than scheduled. We got into the venue and Pat's manager had a security guard come over to us to see if we belonged there. (He couldn't recognize us with the lights being low). The spot light was lit on us and he recognized a couple of us and asked if a couple of other people with us were with us. Later Pat's manager told us that he didn't recognize us right away because of the lighting. After the soundcheck we were again given passes and met with Pat in a room set up for pictures. We were getting ready to leave when Pat's manager had us wait while pictures were taken of Pat and about 25 casino high rollers.
After the photo session was done with all the high rollers we (9 of us) were invited into Pat's dressing room again and offered drinks and had another great time talking with Pat and Neil. This venue had a terrific sound system, great acoustics, and two large monitors and awesome lighting so it made for an awesome concert night. One of our fanclub members had an extra ticket for a floor seat because his friend couldn't make the show at the last minute so he walked up to the balcony before the show started and gave his extra ticket to someone in the last row.
Yep, it was an awesome weekend!!! :D
