I just noticed that I have someting called ' iMesh ads support' in my programs. At one time I had iMesh but I removed it.

I tried to remove this also but got the attached error message.

Not sure what I can do to get rid of this? :)

Are you sure that is part of imesh? I remember briefly using it a few years ago and I hated it myself.

Anyway, if you don't mind tweaking with the registry, go to Start > Run > regedit > OK, search for that cd_clint.dll (or whatever it was), and delete the keys from the database.

Ad-aware might remove it, but the method I gave you above should definitely work.

Here, TC. I searched around and found this for you. It should guide you step-by-step in getting this off of your system. And, yes, it was related to Imesh.

1.Delete the following files (usually found in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\):

CD_CLINT.DLL
CD_GIF.DLL
CD_HTM.DLL
CD_SWF.DLL
CD_LOAD.EXE

2.Delete the ADCACHE folder and its contents (usually found under C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\).

3.Remove Cydoor and Cydoor Services from the Windows Registry. The following Cydoor keys were added in my Windows 98 Registry and are shown for reference only:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cydoor\

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cydoor Services\

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run\ Cydoor=CD_Load.exe
(Just find these keys in your registry and delete them).

Hiya Shakey...I did a search for files and folders. I entered C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ , into the 'look in' and entered each above file but got no results found. (i hope I did this right) . I then entered in ADCACHE into the 'containing text' and found CD_HTM.DLL, which I deleted. (i did not clean out my recycle bin just in case somethig i screw somethig up-lol) I then looked in all my HKEY_CURRENT_USER and _MACHINE and found nothing named imesh or Cydoor. I even went through the steps u outlined here and there is no Cydoor I can see. I don't have Windoews 98 but Windows ME. ;)

I tried to delete imesh ads support again and got that error still. :irked:

Oooh..I did find Kazza and Morpheus while I was searching and deleted all that too. Seems like those programs refuse to be deleted through add/remove

TC here's a good utility to have... it deletes all the files that these programs place in different parts of your hard drive that creates all those annoying pop-up ads. it's called Addware:

Thanks Taz. :* I have that and have used it for this iMesh problem but that darn thing will not go. I tried again to remove it but got that same message about the file cannot be found, yet I can't remove it from my add/remove list. :goofy:

Hey, TC. If you want to remove that entry from your Add/Remove list, just go to this entry in your registry and delete the key that reads "Imesh ads support"

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall

Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks Shakey, but it is not in there. I see all other programs but nothing that reads iMesh.

However, there is something that reads, "Adsupport_202" Also, eZula. Maybe one of them is iMesh?

Hmmm. Not sure about those two. You have Regcleaner (http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/regcleaner.shtml) installed, don't you? Open that up and go to the "Uninstall Menu" and see if the entry is there. If it is, just check off that entry and remove it.

Not sure about iMesh, but I do know that cd-clint.dll is used by Kazaa and Mopheus (it's for popping up ads while using those progs) ... I got rid of it using Norton WipeInfo and the Norton Registry Editor. Then I installed Kazaa Lite instead, that prog also has a cd_clint.dll, but it's a dummy file making sure you can use Kazaa without any adds :)
