Gibson began writing songs in her early childhood, taking piano lessons from Morton Estrin (who also taught Billy Joel) from the age of five.
Her song, "Foolish Beat" made her the youngest artist ever to write, perform, and produce a number one single.

I know that Deborah was born and raised on Long Island. She also starred in several Burger King and Barbi doll commercials before hitting it big on the charts! :)

She has a small role in 1984's "Ghostbusters", as the recipient of a birthday party.
In 1990, she was to have starred in a movie for Columbia Pictures entitled "Skirts", directed by choreographer Kenny Ortega. Before it could get out of development, the infamous Jon Peters, head of the studio at the time, pulled the plug on it.
