Anne Rice has a new vampire book coming out on Oct 29th. Thought I'd post a little bit of info on it for those interested.


BLACKWOOD FARM

Rice breathes new life into the long-running Vampire Chronicles with the tale of Quinn Blackwood, a young vampire haunted by a mencing doppelganger. Tormented by his familiar, Goblin, who has been with him since his birth, Quinn seeks out the famous vampire Lestat, hoping that Lestat can help him control Goblin. Lestat accompanies Quinn to his family estate, Blackwood Farm, and meets Quinn's great-aunt Lorraine, who is known as Aunt Queen. Encouraged by Lestat's interest, Quinn shares his family history, beginning with Manfred, who built Blackwood Farm and also has a mysterious mansion on nearby Sugar Devil Island. Quinn was raised by his grandfather, Pops, after his mother, Patsy, a selfish country singer, refused to have anything to do with him. At first, Goblin is Quinn's only friend and companion. The other members of Quinn's family are concerned, but eventually they begin to acknowledge Goblin. As the years go by, Goblin grows stronger and becomes jealous of other people in Quinn's life. When Quinn falls in love with Mona Mayfair, a beautiful young witch, he has to grapple with Goblin's jealousy as well as Mona's forbidding family. Not until Quinn becomes a vampire does Goblin become a truly dangerous threat to Quinn and those he loves.

I forgot to mention that NBC has signed a contact with Anne Rice to produce a 12 hr minseries of the Mayfair Witches. She's one of the producers on this. Should turn out really good. :) Just getting started on the script for this.

A 12-hour mini-series!!! :) That sounds really fantastic! And with Anne on board, I'm sure it will be a more-faithful adaptation of her novels!!! :thumb:

Only 2 weeks left till it's out in stores!!!!!! I can't wait to get it.

I'm half way thru it cause I begged and begged the book buyer at work to snag me a copy of it and I won't ask for any more favors until something else comes in that I really want. :lol:

I've read the first 7 chapters in 2 hours. SOOOOOO good. Can't wait to finish it. Definietely recommend buying this book.

I just finished this myself. Ended up at point where I just had to finish the damn thing. :lol:

One of the best she's done in my opinion. I was so caught up in the storyline. Was almost crying at the end. Just hope there won't be too long of a wait for the next book. Because there must be a next book. Can't end it like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got the chance to read this book. At first it just dragged his stories about Goblin though were very interesting. And then it just exploded to me. I couldn't believe how it turned out and I really enjoyed the book!

But someone tell me is there a second part of it? I mean it ended like it would have to have a second part. Any one know?

Anne Rice will be releasing her last vampire novel in the fall. Don't know too much about it other then it will be told by Lestat and will involve the Mayfair Witches.

I've been meaning to start reading these books but I keep forgetting everytime I go to Barnes and Noble or something. I take it just about everybody will recommend these books right?
