Does anyone else suffer from occassional bouts of insomnia??? I'm having a bad night with it right now. Going on 4am and I'm wide awake still. Could use some tips on things that might help to relieve this. I took a vicodin and a soma earlier for back pain and still awake. Can't take any unisom on top of that. Might need to see my dr about this. Been like this off and on for the past month.

Take one crowbar to the head and call me in the morning.... j/k ;) I haven't a clue....I've had miscellaneous nights where I've found it impossible to sleep, but never anything serious...

Maybe all that coffee is finally catching up with you...:vibrator:;)

Yeah, definately lay off the caffeine!:goofy: That's a tuff one Jazzy. You have a lot on your mind with everything going on right now. Sometimes, and this is just me... but if I write things down and get it off my mind I can sleep better. Sometimes I'll write it like a journal or a letter or anything to get it out of my head before I go to sleep. Then I shred all the evidence immediately after.

I had some trouble with insomnia last spring - I get it on and off. I found that if I got off the computer 2-3 hours before bedtime, it really helped. The computer kept my brain going past its natural expiration date *g* It's just one trick to keep in mind.

Hope you're snoozing again soon, Jazzy.

I went through this a few years ago when I was working odd shifts. I found that taking a Tylenol PM helped me. It got rid of the headache I would get because I couldn't go to sleep and made me drowsy. I didn't have any of the hangover feeling you get with some sleep aids. Good luck Jazzy. :rose:

Thanks for the tips.....except for Roemy's!! :p:p:p:p

My dr. has suggested using unisom when I need to. It does help at times. I have nights on occassion when not even stuff like that will help me.

I've been taking the natural supplement Melatonin for years and very rarely have trouble sleeping. Melatonin is a natural hormone in your body that helps to regulate sleeping patterns. I take two, 300 mcg. tablets each night about an hour before I go to bed. :)

I use that on occassion too. Doesn't always work though. :(

Homework always made me sleep when I was in school so you could try that. Study. You'll be knocked right out :)

Or go in your living room and do the dancing banana dance (see below).

Jazzmyn, I have been having trouble sleeping lately as well. Do you find yourself sleepy during the day? I would try to keep yourself up during the day as much as possible. If you must take a nap during the day time, try and set the alarm and only make it an hour and a half to two hours.

Try a Tylenol PM this evening and see if that helps.

lol I slept 5 hours yesterday and made sure I didn't take a nap figuring that would help. I didn't get to sleep till 11am and then only slept for 4 hours!!! Maybe I'll get some sleep tonight. Would be nice.

Nottie..... I know what you have in mind!!! Too bad you're on the other side of the country!!!! :p:p:p :naughty: ;)

Don't fight it

Just don't start to rearrange the house again at 4am sis, okay?

But if you really want to sleep :barf: take some warm milk 30 mins before you call it a night.
