Did you know that Poison was formed in 1984 in Los Angeles?

Poison's debut album, Look What The Cat Dragged In, was released in 1986.

Bret Michaels, lead singer, wrote and starred in a movie called A Letter From Death Row. It is scheduled to be released soon.

What do ya have for me? ;)

C.C. isn't Poison's original guitarist

Rikki is now an animal activist, no longer wears leather, and is a vegan

Rikki released a series of adult comic books titled Sisters of Mercy

Didja know......

Poison played local clubs as Paris, before moving to Los Angeles and changing their name.

In 1994, Michaels' face appeared on the news-stands once more when he dated Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, before being unceremoniously "dumped".

Val, the movie A Letter From Death Row has already been released. I saw it about two years ago now on video. ;)

Brett Michaels starred in another movie the "he produced" which was a home movie of him and Pamela Lee having sex (LONG before Tommy and her made thiers)

Rikki Rocket was once a licensed comsetologist.

For photos of the band BEFORE THEY WERE FAMOUS, check out this link! It shows them WAY before they were famous!

Slash of Guns N' Roses auditioned for the guitarist position that C.C. eventually filled. Two extra anecdotes sometimes appear depending on who's telling the story - one claims that Slash refused to join because he didn't want to do all the hair and makeup, the other says he was rejected for not being pretty enough!

I thought so, Stacy!! When I found it on one site, it said "soon to be released", and on another it didn't have a release date. I must have looked at 5 sites that had no release dates. But thanx for getting the correct info on here!! :) Was the movie any good?

Bret has a daughter named Raine. A song he wrote for her is on his new album "Songs Of Life".

Poison's original guitar player was named Matt Smith.

Rikki and Bret used to play "Your Mama Don't Dance" back when they were in Spectres, and they liked the song so much they recorded a version and released it as a single in the late 80's. (Not sure which album it was from, but I think Open Up and Say Ahh.)

Those pics are too cool, thanks for posting the link! A couple things I noticed on the flyers---> The band London is listed, which featured Nikki Sixx pre-Motley Crue. And the band Leather Angel is listed, I totally dug that band! But you've (Jasper) been to my site and know that:D

BC's brushes with greatness....or mediocrity...

I can't remember what year this was, but just south of Memphis in Southhaven my band was going to a gig in Pass Chrisitan and we stopped to get gas. There were a whole bunch of long haired guys wearing spandex walking around. It was two bands, can't remember the opener but the other was Posion, before anybody had ever heard of them. They were headed to Gulfport to play in a bar we had played at several times. We begged them not to go, this was a hardcore blues bar and we were really afraid they would get their West Coast spandex covered a$$es kicked. I heard they took our advice and went over to New Orleans that night. They were really nice and gave us all a casette (predated CD's, man I feel old) and we thought they sucked and laughed at the tape. About two months later we saw them on MTV, couldn't believe it.

They were in "Decline and fall of western civilization the Metal Years"
Awesome late 80's Metal documentary. Always has me wondering what happened to half of the bands featured. Like Odin. Anyone?

A mini-"Where Are They Now" would make a cool DVD extra. For now, guitarist Jeff Duncan mentioned Odin a few times and said he was rehearsing with them in a recent 20 Questions with Metal Sludge here. (http://www.metal-sludge.com/20QuestionsDuncan.htm)

One of my favorite bands, Jaded Lady, was also in the film. They were interviewed in the segment about women in rock. They broke-up in 1990. Ex-guitarist Danelle Kern plays for singer Lana Lane; ex-bass player Cathy Amanti is now a teacher in AZ. Singer Terry O'Leary & guitairst Sylvia Cei made a demo as Thigh High in 1990, but I never heard anything after that despite my best efforts!
