hey who else here remembers the "true" skate punk origins? I have a mega nostalgic spot for the days of flip-top caps with Suicidal or D.R.I. written on them, vision street wear, black trench coats, and the ol' skater haircuts with the shaved head and long locks in the front over one eye....?
Yeah! I was really into the Skate Punk days back then. I guess I was an "un-official" Skate Betty:rolleyes: But anyway.....I had the whole "Skate Punk" music collection. TSOL, DI, DRI, Agent Orange, Black Flag, JFA, Dead Kennedy's, etc....so many great bands.
I was also heavy into the whole Skate fashions as well. But it seems alot of the "skate brands" were pretty much clumped into the skate/surf style as well. Man, I remember hanging out for hours on end at the local skate/surf shop at the mall with all my friends. I swear, I think I could count the number of female friends I had back then on one hand! HAHA!
One cool thing was, my dad built a half-pipe in our backyard to keep all the crazy punks off the streets and let them all hang out at our house! Little did he know about the massive keg parties we had out there after the parents went to bed  LOL!
I miss those times. I miss the music, the clothes, the shoes, the attitude......the skating scene just isn't the SAME nowadays! Boohoo, I wanna go back :(

You know? That subculture did not die at all in SoCal. Heck! I even remember it being big around 1995-1996. Of course, bands like Helmet and Pennywise had also entered the scene besides the old school Punk ones. Black Flag and DK always at the forefront of our musical tastes. This is Huntington Beach we're talking Huntington Beach here. THE Surf Nazi capital of the world! :1offwall:
