Trixter 12-12-01, 09:00 PM Hey Y'all,

Here's some I remember:

Yeah Recker, that would be Bill Irwin. He was also in "Popeye" (1980) with Robin Williams, guest starred a few times on "Third Rock From The Sun" as 'Pickes', and recently played Lou Lou Who (Cindi Lou Who's father) in Ron Howard's "How The Grinch Stole Christmas".

No, Rosanna wasn't in the Toto video. Word has it that she is
mortified that this song is about her, though I don't know quite why. Seems to me it would be an honor to be immortalized in a pop song. I think she should be more mortified by her appearance in several movies lately!!!
80sTrivia: Official Stalker of DD86 & jen* :D
Trixter 12-13-01, 06:41 PM Wasn't the actress Cynthia Rhodes of "Flashdance" & "Dirty Dancing" fame in the Roseanna video?
80sTrivia 12-13-01, 10:02 PM I think Cynthia was in that video, Trix. She was also in "Don't Mean Nothing" by Richard Marx, and he later married her. Trivia side note: Cynthia Rhodes also replaced New Wave diva Astrid Plane when she left Animotion.
Bobbi Brown was also in Great White's "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" video, as well as some other vids by metal boys.

Also, British comic actors Hugh Laurie and Dawn French are in Kate's video, "Experiement VI".
I can't remember who said this, but Rosanna Arquette is the subject of "Rosanna", because she was the girlfriend of one of the members (can't remember who). Also, she wasn't in the video for Starship's, "Sara". I can't remember who the actress is (Rebecca Demorne? (sp)).
Pat Benatar and Father Guido Sarducci (Don Norvello) were both in the video for "Rappin' Rodney" by Rodney Dangerfield.
Ringo Starr was in a lot of Paul McCartney's videos including, "So Bad".
Thomas Dolby was in Lene Lovich's video, "New Toy".

80sTrivia 1-07-02, 03:36 PM I was watching VH-1 Classics this morning and noticed that Bananarama have a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance in the Eurythmics video for "Who's That Girl?" (not to be confused with the Madonna tune of the same name!). Probably because Siobahn Fahey was dating Dave Stewart at the time and they later married!!!

LOSTNTHE80S 9-13-02, 08:10 AM We had a thread a while back about cameo appearances in 80's videos but I can't find it, mods feel free to move this there if you want.
I was watching VH1 Classics last night when RAY PARKER JR.'S video to the movie GHOSTBUSTERS came on. I had forgotten how many big names had cameo appearances in it. I saw:
DANNY DE VITO
CARLY SIMON
JOHN CANDY
IRENE CARA
CHEVY CHASE
MELISSA GILBERT
GEORGE WENDT
TERI GARR
PATER FALK
and a couple of others (besides Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, and the other ones that were in the movie)
I hadn't seen the video for years..kind of funny watching it again.
This movie was on HBO a month ago they played it to death. But I have to admitt I watched it everytime it came on :lol:
I really liked it.
LOSTNTHE80S 9-13-02, 10:06 AM I have the movie..this was the VIDEO to the SONG~~GHOSTBUSTERS.

This is an answer long time coming....
"Le Bel Age" is from Pat Benatar's album Seven The Hard Way which is out of print, but a British company released a two album CD set which has Tropico and Seven The Hard Way albums, and "Le Bel Age" is on it.
"Le Bel Age" is also included in these CD's:
All Fired Up: The Very Best Of Pat Benatar
and
Synchronistic Wanderings: Recorded Anthology 1979 to 1999
All are available at CDnow.com and Amazon.com.

Yeah, Bananarama was in the Eurythmics "Who's That Girl" video. Also the female members of the British pop group, Bucks Fizz, Marilyn (cross-dressed British male singer) and the female half of Hayssi Fantazee (can't remember her name off the top of my head right at the moment) are all in the video.
Femmetal 9-14-02, 06:05 PM Actress Julienne Philips (ex-wife of Bruce Springsteen) was in .38 Special's "If I'd Been The One" video. She later starred in the TV-series "Sisters".
Twisted Sister's Dee Snider was in Y&T's video "Lipstick & Leather".
Tawny Kitaen was also in Whitesnake's "Fool For your Lovin'" and "The Deeper The Love" videos.
Actor Bobcat Goldthwait was in Twisted Sister's "Leader of The Pack" video.
That's all I can think of for now...
I tell you one that you might not know about. Paula Abdul was in ZZ Top's "Velcro Fly" and she invented a dance that she and Frank, Dusty, and Billy did. No kidding, they said they wanted to start a ZZ Top dance craze.
EDITED to say that I just saw this video on VH1 Classic, and I don't believe that Paula was in it. I have heard her say twice that she was, maybe she just invented the "Velcro Fly" dance. There were three dancers, and one could have been her, but they would have made her much taller somehow for it be her.
jujube29 5-02-04, 11:18 PM I just saw tonight the video Sara by Starship and it was in fact Rebecca De Mornay.
What is funny is all that talk about the song Rosanna by Toto, and people are trying so hard to find Rosanne Arquette in this video that nobody seems to notice that one of the dancer is Patrick Swayze. (I know because I have the video).
Rescator 5-03-04, 06:01 AM Hi everybody. Great discussion over here, on a topic I write a little about on my site (http://www.u-blog.net/GenerationClips) talking about music videos. I learn a little bit more. And I would indicate you two "rare" guest actors in videos ;) :
- Kay Lenz was in "Infatuation" by Rod Stewart;
- Donald Sutherland was in "Cloudbusting" by Kate Bush;
And from my frenchy side, there was in the 80s :
- Claude Brasseur & Gérad Jugnot in "Hold up" by Louis Chedid;
More recently (not the 80s!), you have :
- Christopher Walken was in "Praise" by Fat Boy Slim;
- Marlon Brando & Chris Tucker were in "You rock my world" by M.Jackson;
Rescator 5-17-04, 04:22 AM No answer from your part? No matter. I've discovered another great actor in an old video front the 80's : Matt Dillon, in "Ferrytale of N.Y" by the Pogues. He's playing a cop arresting someone in his old black&white video.
And I correct myself : C. Walken was not in "Praise" Fat Boy Slim video, but in... "Weapon of choice"! Sorry. :yesnod:
cyberyoyo 5-20-04, 05:08 PM Hello,

Trevor Horn (famed Buggles singer and ZZT producer) appears in ABC's 'Look of Love' video
Robert Townsend, Mykelti Williamson (Bubba and his shrimp boat from Forrest Gump) and Grand L. Bush (he was in the tv series Fame and played Balrog in the Street Fighter movie) appear in the video 'I Can Dream About You' by Dan Hartman which is pretty much just footage from the Streets of Fire movie
Lela Rochon (she was in the movie Waiting to Exhale among others) was seen in Lionel Richie's 'All Night Long' video
Eric T H 8-24-04, 05:51 AM Billy Joel's 1983 video for 'Uptown Girl' had his future wife Christie Brinkley in it, they were married in 1985 til 1994.
Tracey Ullman's re-working of the Madness song 'My Girl' had the British Politician Neil Kinnock (former Labour party leader) as 'My Guy'. :)
Kid Sidekick 8-26-04, 01:59 AM Lesley Ann Warren in Aerosmith's "Janie's Got A Gun" (My favorite video ever, by the way)
Milton Berle was in Ratt's Back for more video (i believe this is the one hey crashes intot he building on a motorbike)

bookmistres4ever 8-26-04, 04:06 AM There was a black supermodel (can't think of her name now) in the 1991 Michael Jackson video "In the closet".
Billy Joel's wife and little girl make a 2 second appearance in the video "I go to extremes".
And I was thinking (although I'm not sure) that Daniel Day Lewis appeared in Annie Lennox's video, Walking on Broken glass.
What music video did Father Guido Sarducci have a cameo as a priest in a confessional?

To add to the list of cameos...
