Did anyone see the episode where they did the "Oops! Don't Do It Again" videos? Almost all the videos were from the 80s!! Now I've seen some pretty cheesy videos in the 90s, why weren't any of those chosen? True, the videos chosen weren't exactly cinematic art, but really.

How about "cheapest", that could go to D'Angelo for his "I Bet You Think I'm Really Naked" video. What do you guys think?

I didn't see it on VH-1, but I read the list on the VH-1 website. I was very dissapointed and mad at that list. Lots of these 90's videos are more stupid than the 80's. You got to remember though, there are two kinds of people that are in our age groups: 1. Is people like us who look fondly on the 80's. and 2. Are people who will only look at what is current and criticize everything in the past. Those are probably the people who chose to vote for that show.

It's called irony. It became popular in the 90s, and it still is today. It pisses me off. I love 80s videos (natch. What else would I be doing here?). Might as well read the list and see what made it.

Sincerely,

I just saw the list, and I've gone agog.

"Love Is A Battlefield"? VH1 voted it one of the 100 best videos of all time. Apparently, their viewers thought differently. I, myself loved that video. Pat Benatar looked good.

"Cherry Pie"? I love that song, and the video has an ultra-hot babe, to boot. What's wrong?

"Burning Up"? Loved it myself.

"Physical"? Enjoy it for camp value...don't criticize it.

God, they can take this list and stick it in their nostrils.

Sincerely,

John "outofplacechild" Kilduff

Much Music did this kind of thing about a year and a half ago - the cheesiest vidoes of all times - I was so mad that they chose mostly 80s videos. Hello! A lot of these videos were the pioneers of the types of videos we have today.

Okay Cameo's video word up is very very cheesy but still....LOL

Zel...sad to say, but talking about 80īs music to a todayīs exec of a music station is like explaining colors to a blind person.

You can be glad if you still can receive VH-1 or similar...in Germany, itīs only artificial pop on all stations all day long. :(

You even have that stuff over there? Is there ever an escape from all this madness! I want REAL music to come back!

Real Music? I think we'll all have to form an underground military-type mission to accomplish that. A radio station take-over, or something.

That would be cool! A little bit of Airheads and Pump up the Volume rolled into one :)

Wave if you have unlimited bandwidth you could listen to netradio all day.

It will be great when we can get a car radio that grabs your favorite internet radio stations. Instead of a dial you punch in an ip address....hmmm

Actually, I have unlimited bandwidth, but itīs a bit too much for me, switching on the comp and stuff just to listen some radio - Iīm pretty lazy, and my g/f would also become a fit as she thinks that Iīm already spending too much time in front of the screen. :D

And...there are some devices available which will receive netradio, but I think if you already have a comp and a net account, why spending extra money?

VW has just sold a limited edition of the Rabbit/Golf called Golf Generation (it was only sold in Germany AFAIK) with a PDA and net access via the cell phone. Technically, you could listen to netradio while driving, but the costs of roughly 50 cents per minute...besides, since the transmission speed for cellphones is still very limited, the sound quality is not that good.
This may change with the UMTS technology which is awaited for 2002/2003, for now, itīs better (and cheaper) to leech the net for .mp3īs and burn them on disc. ;)
