Ahh, I have my screen resolution on so small that I couldn't see it. It didn't come in very clear anyway. I don't know what the problem is - I have a really good system here. I guess I'm not much for watching video over the net yet...

Hmmm...Why would that be Liz? Did it have this version of Girls on Film on it? What songs did it have on it? I have a few film clips so far and enjoy them a lot! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

If the tape did have that banned Girls on Film video on it, that would be why you've not gotten it back. If Duran Duran actually thought TV would air that, they've got a screw loose! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Granted, it's a good piece of artistic work http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

No joke-I see those tapes popping up on eBay all the time http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/mad.gif . I remember getting so chafed when I watched The Chauffer for the 1st time-Duran Duran was no where in sight. After that my friend's brother would run in before we could pop the tape out-man, what an evil grin.

Too true! I just hope they can get it in for me unlike most of the Duran Duran cds I tried to get like their first one. They had to import it and I had to pay up to $50 if they could get it. No thanks! Just as well I only wanted one song which I now have.
But I'm looking forward to getting the video!! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hey there's a very interesting interview right at the back of this month's Aust Rolling Stone Sheibub, it's with Nick Rhodes
(I know he's not you favorite) but it's cool!
he talks about the stardom, the fasion, the ups and downs - and even the sailing boat featured in the Rio clip. It's quite an interesting little read http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hmmmm... sounds like an interesting read. I'll have to take a walk up to the newsagent and read it. Yeah, he's not my number one choice but he is my second! It's a pity they couldn't have both clips for Girls On Film. I've seen the uncensored version so much now that I can't remember what the other one is like! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

Oh that's easy fixed -
STEP 1:turn the contrast and brightness down on your TV until the screen is completely black

STEP 2:Stare at the screen with the sound still turned up and try and rememeber the other clip http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

STEP 3:Call Retroman a complete looney!

Ahh! No need for that. I just have to watch one of my other tapes of either Countdown or just one of my own collection of favourite songs off RAGE tapes! I'm on my second video of fav songs so far, both 4 hours long! RAGE is good this week, they've got COVER SONGS on Saturday night. Like Devo's - I Can't get No (Satisfaction), Faith no More's - Easy, Echo & The Bunnymen's - People Are Strange and more.

I quickly read that interview with Nick Rhodes in the Rolling Stone magazine today. I'd say he didn't like doing the clip for RIO much neither did the rest of the gang. Although he says Simon loves a bit of danger which is why he does things like that in their clips. I liked it when he mentioned that Simon likes a bit of danger but he just likes walking! I'd say they were total opposites wouldn't you say?
Did you see the lunar eclipse tonight? It's absolutely freezing down here but worth freezing your butt off for. A real red-orange colour it is. It will start going back to normal soon. Saw quite a few meteorites too. More than I usually see in a night. There was supposed to be an arora tonight too but there wasn't. Bit of a bummer really. It would've capped off an excellent night for sky watching! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I feel like such a wally - I was going to set up the video camera on a tripod and set in time lapse mode, but my Dad just reminded me that although the eclipse is in motion - so is the moon!! I just didn't think! how stupid am I?!? it wouldn't work!
So yeah, I braved the cold and got some cool footage from the roof - the slash of orange/red on the side looked amazing though the camera! lucky I got it too - the next ones not going to happen 'till Y3K!

You wanna know something even better than that? This month has 3 eclipses in it. A solar one that appeared on the 1st, the recent lunar one on the 16th and another solar one on the 30th I think. The last time 3 eclipses occured in the same month was back in 1630 something, can't remember the exact year but a long time ago! Then next time that will happen is mid-3000! Rare indeed. Pity we don't get to see either of the solar eclipses. Bit of a bummer really! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/frown.gif

Just watched Wheel of Fortune yesterday, don't watch it normally, but there was a guy on there who must be a fan of the 80s. Because everytime he asked for a letter instead of saying 'A' for apple he'd say 'A for Adam Ant', 'D for Depeche Mode', 'H for Haysi Fantazyee', and so on. Everyone must've thought he was weird. I mean everytime it was an artist from the 80s, mind you he did win! WEIRD!! /ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif
