Did you know that Rick Astley refused! his first offered contract, because it was for him alone, dismissing his band, FBI.

FBI members felt that they were holding Rick back, and contacted their managers to get Rick another shot at a contract. :)

After his 1987 and 1989 albums, he released 3 others. One in 1991, one in 1993, and the last in 1998.

Why couldn't he just have refused them all ;)

He's not may fave, either, Harket, but I figured I should do a little of everything so all our members could enjoy the forum. ;)

Didja know Rick Astley had a string of 7 top 10 hits in the UK in the 80's. More than anyone else in the UK for that decade.

:grrr: You know what,I'm getting sick and tired of ignorant people who think they have nothing better to do than rag on somebody who actually has talent! They'd rather listen to meaningless crap! I won't name anything in particular because unlike you folks I actually have some respect! I don't care whether you listen to Rick Astley, whether you like him, can't stand him,or whatever, that's fine. But,I'm not going to just sit back and let you call him names and talk trash about him without fighting back! My philosophy is,if you can't say something nice,KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!

I haven't been able to find any of his music videos. But I've been able to find his greatest hits on Naspterlinks. Si there any favorites that you guys like? One of my favorite songs by him is "Cry For Help." I was recently listening to that song on Napsterlinks and I was reminded of how I saw the video to this song on VH1 years ago. I haven't able to track down the video to this song. I wonder if anyone else has.

Heh, funny story, my mother and I were driving somewhere a long time ago, and "Together Forever" came on, and she looked at me and said: "Who is this singing? He's very good". I told her it was RA, and she was like "I bet he looks just like Luther Vandross or Barry White with that voice". When I told her what he really looked like, she simply refused to believe it!

I know this thread is old but THIS IS WHY MANY PEOPLE HAVE LEFT THIS FORUM IN DROVES!! There are always the same posters who taunt and tease people for liking certain singers/groups but I guarentee they'd go ballistic if you bashed one of the artists they like. There is no such thing as respect in here. Calling Rick Astley names and degrading him (and his fans) is just immature and well, childish. This is why I'm leaving again, and this time I won't be coming back just like TONS of other posters.

To those who made rude comments in here..read between the lines...GET.A.LIFE!

Yeah - it's five years ago since the first post and almost three years since the picture. Let it go

Oh - btw. I take back all my comments on Rick Astley. Each his own. Happy now???

There's nothing wrong with bringing up old threads. It gives new people a chance to add there comments.
As for me, I don't think Rick is so bad. My fav song of his is, "It Would Take A Strong Strong Man."
And Yes Buster, I do remember "Cry For Help." It was a pretty good song.
