View Full Version : I have invented a time machine
shipwreck 8-22-02, 01:06 PM come in come in folks see this machine i have aquired, it is a time machine that will travel back only to the years 1980-1989, (I am still working the bugs out) so if you brave and daring souls go back with me to the yesteryear what would you do differently (if anything),anything from waiting for the first time you (know what I mean to taking a different path ,college..... military ....date different people/person whatever........ me you ask ....oh I would do a lot different, gone to college not tech school, waited on marriage, traveled more, stayed with martial arts(I guess I was looking for the mr.miyagi type teacher of karate kid fame) see what movies will do to ya lol)been more confident ( so what if i can't dance.)chose a different carreer so bare your souls and whisper to my ear shhhh I won't tell a soul;)
now catch me up to speed what is all the tag lines on your signatures like so and so stalker of whom and whom and all the other stuff (just trying to catch up to date )
I would take that trip and make the best of it. I would have lot's more sex but wouldn't change anything else. I made alot of mistakes but without those I wouldn't have my wife and Daughter. as far as the stalker\stalkee thing there has been a couple of threads on the issue and I'm sure one of these super nice people will post it to you.
Shortie Blonde 8-22-02, 02:18 PM I...would take my bestest buddy Teddie with me. :D And I would just live life...register at a highschool...get a job. I wasn't there in the 80s.
LOSTNTHE80S 8-22-02, 02:30 PM Shortie..yes you were in the 80's..but JUST BARELY! :)
Ship..about the stalker thingy..I'm clueless..I'm stalkerless and stalkeeless. (Does that make sense to you? It does? Good..:))
I'm not sure if I would do anything different...There are a few things that I could have prevented from happening..but I'm not sure if I would have or not. Those experiences have changed my life..for the better in the longrun.
I have alot of great memories from the 80's..especially from 1981-1984. Great topic.

Yeah, like for two years and 3 months excuse me. I remember like two videos. lol :p
Check out this link to a thread about stalking, this should answer some questions.

DC Rebel 8-23-02, 02:21 AM I do not think that I would change a thing that I did in the 80s because I had a good time while there.
Iluvthe80s 9-01-02, 09:08 AM I would go in that time machine and never come back! The 80's were the best and always have been. :)
angels_babe 9-02-02, 07:16 AM Well the first thing I would do is be older I was a kid in the 80's so missed out on the good night clubbing and stuff. Secondly I would buy a shitload of microsoft stocks.
BlitzKid 9-02-02, 03:52 PM I would love to hop on the time machine and take a few trips back in time! Just imagine, holiday in the 80s!
I wouldn't go back to change things, i would go back to see things i missed back then. I definatley would go to the time Blitz Club was the hottest place for the NEw Romantic scene. And there also has to be a trip to July 13th 1985 so i could see the Life Aid concert ... well live! :)
I would go shopping and clubbing, i would visit a Roller Disco for the first time in my life! I have tons of ideas how to spend the time!
Good topic!
I don't really know what I would change about my time in the 80s. There are a few really mean things that I said to one of my friends in sixth grade, (87?) that I wish I could apologize for, but she moved away and I never saw her again. It's funny how something little like that can follow you around for the next, oh, fifteen years.
I wouldn't have quit taking piano lessons, either. I started when I was 5, and quit when I was 10 so I could play in band. (I didn't want to practice both, one was bad enough!) When I went to college and had to start the piano all over again at the age of 20, I was not happy. Hehe.
Glenn Gulia 9-04-02, 11:26 AM I would invest all my money in Microsoft before it went public.:D
tzimsce 12-02-02, 03:39 PM I would go back and play more Dungeons & Dragons, and study harder in school.
True Rebel 12-02-02, 06:27 PM Goin back ta the 80's huh? Well I'd definately be takin Xandra with me, an we'd relive some o'the years we never got ta share. I'd also look up me younger self an try to talk some reason into th'stubborn wanker. Maybe he'd avoid some o'the hell I put myself thru.

That's cuz I'm all retro, ya know?:D
scott28883 12-03-02, 03:40 PM I would go back to the 80s in a heart beat. I have been looking for a time machine. The BIG thing I would change is that I would have gone to the high school that I wanted to go to instead of the hell hole of a catholic school I went too. MY life sucks because of the school I went too. If I had went to the public high school where I should have gone, my life would be so different and better now. I lost all my friends because of that school. I would be so much better with the women. I would probably have better job etc etc etc. Plus I would have enjoyed the music alot more, listened to more variety and soak it in instead of learning about the music in years later.
Just that one little BIG change in my life would be so perfect. Just going to the high school I wanted to instead of going to all boys catholic high school would be life altering in the most positive way.

I am so with you on that one. When do we leave?
Slayergrrl 12-16-02, 01:32 PM I have a HUGE list of things i'd change. I'd have to keep the mistakes. Can't mess with Karma. And hell some of those mistakes were fun!
