Ok..you told me to talk, I'm talking. For some reason, I'm really depressed today. I don't know if it's because it's nearly the end of summer and the kids are starting school day after tomorrow..do I feel as though I didn't do enough with them during their time home? (We did alot..I just feel this way). I know that they are ready to go back...nothing I can do for them is good enough it seems. In school, you are stimulated all the time with the constant schedule, activities..mom's just boring.

I enjoy going to the school and helping out with the classrooms & PTO. The last 3 years, I have been head room mother, in charge of concessions for the dances, helping computerize the school library, etc...

Sure, I'll enjoy a quiet house. I told the kids the other day that the minute they leave for school, I'm going to see if the remote will go on any other channel than NICK, turn off the phones, not answer the door, put my feet up on the coffee table, and eat all of the snacks in the house, & take a long bath without someone pounding on the door ("MOM...SHE'S HITTING ME!" crash..the door comes down "SO!! YOU HIT ME FIRST!!"..."UH UH" "UH HUH" "DID NOT!" "DID TOO!") LOL!

I just can't shake this. Maybe it'll be ok in a few days. I've tried calling a couple of friends..no answer. Even tried Emailing my very close friend but I don't know what's going on with her either.

Ok...think I've typed my 500,000 word limit again. :)

You sound like my mother when I used to go to school. :p I think it's adorable when mothers miss their kids. :D

Oh gee, thanks. That helps me feel better. :) I'm depressed today, my 40th birthday is coming up, and you're saying I sound like your mom! LOL! Adorable when mom's miss their kids? I call it hoping that they stay safe during the day. When you have children, they ARE a part of you and you feel more than just emotions. You feel a connection.

Oh, Jana. You just don't know how badly I wish I were in your shoes. I love kids and wish I had some. I never have been able to come to a clear decision on whether I wish I had had kids while I was married. Sure, they would have had to struggle through their parents divorce, but I would have had kids. :( Now it just doesn't seem like I am ever going to get the chance.

It seems to me that you should follow the advise of a very wise woman who posted THIS.................

....and I think you'll be feeling just fine after a few days of taking care of the caretaker. :D

Sarg... that just brought tears to my eyes. Thank you. I mean it! I'll be ok, not going to go drive off the road or anything. I get like this every year.

You are a great mom and your kids are lucky to have you.
Just hang in there. Pretty soon you will be overwhelmed with their activities and you want to be alone for awhile.

LOL!!! I can relate so well to this one!

My oldest is going back to school next week and into first grade. It will be so strange without him around for 6 and 1/2 hours. I've still got the 3 year old maniac to keep me busy, but it will be strange. And, I still won't be able to change the channel off of Nick!

I personally am grateful for moms who miss their kids while they're in school. My mom had her first three kids and when the youngest got into school, Mom missed the kids so much she wanted to have another one...who ended up being me!:D I tell my sister that if she hadn't made Mom cry so much, I wouldn't be here.:p

So I'm not the only one who had a mom work in the same school as me. :)

Jana, you'll be okay. I don't have kids, but I can understand how you feel. I have friends with kids and I know some of them are sad when they go to school, but others are happy that they go.

I'm a LITTLE better ..for right now. I took the girls shopping and we spent about $150.00 today. Only $15 of it was on myself too!
