I didn't have any of these personally, but did anyone (or still do) own them? I know they made a Duran Duran one and a David Bowie one. Is there any others?

Iluvthe80s 5-11-01, 04:06 PM They were a VHS video that would have about 2 to 4 videos from a particular artist on them. For example, there was a Duran Duran "Girls On Film" one that had that video and a few others on it. Shakey 5-12-01, 01:55 AM Sounds cool. Wish I HAD sen them. Probably would have bought them. SurlyOne 5-15-01, 11:46 AM I have a few of these, but on laserdisc (not VHS). Thomas Dolby, Kajagoogoo (bought that one on eBay 2 years ago!), The Motels, Duran Duran, Martin Briley (you know, "The Salt In My Tears" from 1983!) and Wham! I want the one from Missing Persons!!! Iluvthe80s 5-15-01, 12:01 PM I never knew they made those on Laser Disc. Urethane 5-17-01, 11:44 AM Why don't they release Videos on vhs, vcd(my preferred method), or dvd as they would a cd of the same artist. I'm sure when people buy a cd of the band they like, they would want the accompanying videos. I would buy all sorts of videos if they were released on dvd or vcd, (I hate vhs). I know they accasionally release video compilations but, I'm talking release them the same as they would the single, on a regular basis. Then maybe it would put Liberal MTV out of business! [ May 17, 2001 09:46 AM: Message edited by: Urethane ] Iluvthe80s 5-17-01, 09:36 PM Give them time and they will. They are already forcing people to buy DVD's. Every time I go into the video store the DVD section is getting larger. That sucks for me because I don't own a DVD player. Urethane 5-17-01, 11:00 PM Originally posted by Iluv80s: I don't own a DVD player. Pssst, hey Stacy, get a PS2 then you'll have one, and much more. Poison PJ 5-18-01, 12:38 AM Bon Jovi's "Breakout" Was A Sony Video 45 Iluvthe80s 5-18-01, 11:46 PM Originally posted by Urethane: [QUOTE] Pssst, hey Stacy, get a PS2 then you'll have one, and much more. Believe me, we will probably be getting one because my boyfriend wants one. I think I remember seeing that in the store back in the day. Poison PJ 5-22-01, 02:36 AM Yeah It Does Stacy, I Still have It In fact Michael 6-07-01, 10:30 PM I have two of the Sony Video 45's. One is Whitesnake "Foreplay." "Here I go Again" plus three others I can't remember right now. All are done in a concert setting. Interesting is a line in the song 'Here I Go Again.' In the well known version it's "Like a DRIFTER I was born to walk alone." On this video it goes "Like a HOBO, I was born to walk alone." The other is Berlin. It has five video's: 'No More Words' 'The Metro' 'Dancing in Berlin' 'Sex (I'm A...)' 'Now it's My Turn' SurlyOne 6-08-01, 12:34 PM Originally posted by Iluv80s: Give them time and they will. The failures really outweigh the success stories. The problem for me was having to fast forward through a tape to find a song in the middle. DVD players are coming down in price - J&R Music World in NYC is selling players by a brand called Apex for $99! Music videos on DVD are really taking off, and starting to out-perform their VHS counterparts. I can't reveal much now, but I work for a major record company, and I am working on some DVD's of music videos right now! If we can get the "legal stuff" taken care of, I should be announcing some cool 80's DVD compilations before the end of the year! Stay tuned... Michael 6-09-01, 11:53 AM If you need any help deciding which videos to put on those compilations, just let me know. |
