... But over the weekend I picked up two cartoon sets on video: GI Joe and Dungeons and Dragons!

The GI Joe set consists of three cassettes with the half-hour cartoons that aired around 1983-4. The Dungeons & Dragons set consists of four cassettes from the first two seasons.

If you don't see me around here lately, it's because I'm in front of the TV watching cartoons. :D

Hey, congratulations! How's the quality on your Dungeons & Dragons set? I traded someone for a set a few years ago, but the tape quality left much to be desired. I loved that show-- my favorite episodes were Valley of the Unicorns (hehe) and something about a girl and Tomorrow... I forget the title.

GI Joe is back on Cartoon Network, at 1:30 AM Eastern I believe.

Nice pick up...I need to start trying to find the D&D toons. I was a serious gamer in my day and this cartoon fit right in...

Ohhh...GI Joe! My brother still has three tapes full of episodes we watched as kids. But taping them off is a bad idea, since we've watched those tapes thousands of times until we both grew out of our cartoon phase (before promptly returning to it two years later).

So alas, I am stuck taping them off Cartoon Network...and it's killing me because they're starting to show the To Be Continued episodes....without actually continuing the next night.

Well, just finished watching all of them. The D&D tapes leave something to be desired. It's watchable, but the picture's pretty fuzzy and has tracking problems in several places. The quality for Season 3 was pretty crappy, but then again, so were the episodes for Season 3

The other thing was that the guy who recorded it did some selective editing. Some of the title sequences for Season 2 episodes still used the intro theme from Season 1, which I found annoying.

Still, it's better than nothing, I suppose. It did bring back some fond memories, though, so it was still money well spent. My favorites are "Day of the Dungeon Master," "Prison Without Walls," and "City at the Edge of Midnight."

GI Joe and Dungeons and Dragons... The two characters that come to mind are Zartan and Eric, respectively. Both good cartoons:)
