Yes, the song was really catchy! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I would like to. I'll probably rent it as soon as I see it.

Speaking of that beat and the 80's...Slick Rick incorporated that Inspector Gadget song into his jam, "The Show" http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//biggrin.gif

wasn't it freaky how Penny & Brain did most of the work and Inspector Gadget acted pretty much as a decoy
I think EVERY time he used his 'go go gadget copter' it would always get mangled and busted!
I loved Dr Claws henchmen - they looked pretty sinister, but they were complete goofballs
One of my favorite parts in the opening sequence - is when IG's cop car bends in the middle and out pops those jet thrusters - and the car just takes off VVVROOOMMMMM!! I wan't my RX7 to do that!!!!!

I watched it all the time, though it always pissed me off that the Inspector acted like such a hot shot, taking all the credit for everything when in reality Penny and Brain did all the work. It is still my lifelong dream to see Dr. Claw's face (and no, i dont count the blasphemous Disney live action remake).

I know huh? They could've at least gave us a little glimpse as like a final episode. I don't count the movie version either....hell, they didn't even get the claw right http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif And Mad Cat....not even close http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif

The movie was ok though, I guess. It just didn't capture the essence of the much better cartoon.

For some reason, I've always found the exploits of Penny and Brain MORE ENTERTAINING that Gadget. Mabey because, as a kid, I found it more interesting to see a kid get into the action. Or maybe I just thought Gadget was a doofus and, by comparison, they made him look more so.... mabey both, I don't know .

Now that I think about it, that does have a similar feel to it as "Case Closed" on the Cartoon Network, "Jackie Chan Adventures" on WB (only Chan is very competent), "Johnny Quest" (ditto for Race and the Prof.) does in that regard. Hmmm.....

I always wanted the cool watch that Penny had which she used to talk to Brain with, I still love watching Inspector Gadget - I think they have released some episodes on DVD - might have to check them out :yesnod:

OH man! I used to watch it everyday, but not for Gadget. I HATED him. I always had the hope that once, JUST once Dr. Claw would win. In my world he would and I always had the theory that we saw what he looked like every day because his face was the MAD symbol. I figured since his arm was black and he had that cool voice that he was some kind of demon. Too bad that didn't happen. I refused to watch the Disney movie. I can't stand broderic, although Rupret Evert did make a handsome Dr. Claw. But no, I'm too much of a stickler for accuracy and when movies are that off to the original I hate it. BTW Galaga girl, I think we now have Penny's stuff. Her watch is a cell phone and her book is a lap top. She was ahead of her time.
