I just saw that "Team Knight rider" was coming up on some channel here in Sweden. Haven't had time to check it out yet. Could be same as Knight rider 2000??

Knight Rider? Every Friday night at 9pm on NBC. Right after the Dukes of Hazard. I remember NOBODY could touch NBC in those days...
Sal Collaziano 2-08-01, 02:12 PM You're so right. NBC ruled. They had all the good shows and all the good movies and miniseries.. What a time in life that was.. V and The Day After were on NBC. Right?

I loved that car too!
I watched all 3 shows! Yes, there was the original "Knight Rider" then came a new and improved KITT that jumped higher, farther, and had a few new lasers and other gadgets.
About the only noticable difference between "Knight Rider", and "Knight Rider 2000" was those added gadgets and when Michael Knight was ready to fly over objects Kitt sprouted small wings from the fenders.
"Team Knight Rider" was a group of 5 people (3 guys & 2 girls) who had different vehicles (all talked and one an SUV truck with a bad attitude).
The team went from location to location by being transported with their vehicles by a C-5 aircraft that had the comforts of home and all types of technology on it. The show lasted about one season.

this charming man 1-25-02, 05:04 PM Does anybody remember Knightrider? Starred David (Baywatch) Hasselhoff where he drove a car called Kitt.
Alright, so this thread has already been posted and I'm only a year out lol.
But it was still a good show.
A classic show was Knight Rider. Used to watch it religiously back in the 80s when it first came out. Always had a dream of owning a car like Kitt.
I've seen re-runs in recent years and never quite got back into it again. :(
80sAlive.com 1-25-02, 05:40 PM SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT....
Actually, I just posted a new article on Knight Rider today on my site:
http://80salive.com/Articles/TV/KnightRider/
Enjoy!
About 6 months ago David Hasselhoff bought the rights to Knight Rider, and has been looing for a deal to bring back the show on tv or possibly a motion picture. He might again play Michael Knight as the head of the foundation, but does not plan on being KITT's driver.
80sAlive.com 1-26-02, 01:27 AM That is pretty interesting news. I had heard something to that effect, but it just won't be the same unless Michael is behind the wheel, though.

Knight Rider, I admit, was a show that I would only catch now and then. But when I did, I enjoyed the program, and who didn't want to own Kitt?! :thumb:
Sal, you're so right about NBC, I had forgot all about "The Day After". That miniseries stayed with me for days after viewing, it really freaked me out. Thinking about it now, the initial blast and people's skeletons flashing on the screen.....some pretty serious stuff!
I dunno, I think as long as David Hasselhoff is involved (he'll still have a rapport with Kitt), the show could be pretty good! I would have loved to have a car like that! And hopefully, Micheal Knight won't have to save anyone on a beach in red swim trunks. What a let down for a little girl. LOL
This show was AWESOME! I used to watch it all of the time. In addition to watching the show, I was able to see KITT here in Fort Wayne when I was a kid (I had my picture taken with it). :thumb: You could see inside the car (the doors were open); however, you could not sit inside because of ropes surrounding the car. However, it was a pretty memorable experience.
I think I vaguely remember Knight Rider 2000 on TV. Didn't they transfer KITT's brain from the Trans Am to a '57 Chevy Bel-Air? I only saw bits and pieces of it.
Maybe if they bring the series back, they can bring back KARR and Goliath. It would be interesting to pair the evil duo against KITT.
Shortie Blonde 1-27-02, 03:17 PM Knight Rider is awesome, but I am to young to have seen it when the were still making new episodes. Sometimes I watch the re runs on various cable channels.
BlueOmega 1-28-02, 09:26 AM I remember KnightRider, and KnightRider 2000!!!!!!!!!
Therrall 2-03-02, 05:00 AM I remember watching Knight Rider when I was younger me and my bro Loved that show he even had a plastic model of Kitt(which I have in a box in pieces in storage:( ) I saw a few episodes of Knight Rider 2000 and all I can say is Lame, it didn't even spark my interest I was disappointed. It would be cool to see something new done with Knight Rider:)
Knight Rider 2000. Definitely lame. Have to agree with you there Therr.
The original series has once again started reruns on New Zealand TV. Sunday Night has become quite good viewing again. We get Knight Rider, followed by WWF Raw, followed by The A Team, all on the same channell. :)
Another favorite of mine from the '80s!!!!
I LOVED Knight Rider!!!!! :)
Knight Rider had two attempts to bring it back in the '90s. In 1991 "Knight Rider 2000" came out, which was going to be a new TV series. But only that TV movie of the week was made.
Then in 1997, "Team Knight Rider" came out and lasted one season. Both of these '90s attempts failed and missed the point of the original KR. KR was about the characters and the relationships they had. People liked Michael and KITT arguing and seeing Michael and Devon banter back and forth. The two '90s attempts had none of this, and they did not have the sense of humour about themselves that the '80s version had.
Oh and there was also a made for TV movie called "Knight Rider 2010" that came out in 1994. This film featured a guy driving around in some beat up shitty car. This film had NO CONNECTION to the '80s KR. It was just Universal Pictures trying to make some money off of the KR name.
This year, a new KR show will come out. Third time the charm? It will be called "Super Knight Rider 3000". This 3rd attempt to bring back KR may actually work because David Hasselhoff will star in it as Michael Knight, but he will be the elder statesmen. A younger guy will play the driver of the new car. William Daniels is supposed to return as the voice of KITT.

Westend Girl 2-11-02, 10:31 AM Danish TV showed Knight Rider in the afternoon where there was nothing else interesting on. I liked it, but I would never watch it today. It will be hard not to laugh after hearing David Hasselhoff sing on German tv several times.

You are absolutely right Vincent. Keen insight. When i think of the original series, I think of the characters and the relationships between them. The Team Knight Rider definitely didn't have that and I also think there were too many characters.
I think the humour side of things is quite a big issue. Most action shows in the 80s had a lighter side to them and all though a lot of modern day shows have similar formulas there are many now that are just way too serious for their own good.
