My sister and I are having a disagreement on the show that Gary Gnu was on. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//00hmph.gif I'm thinking that he was on "The Great Space Coaster." She insists that it was either H.R. Puffinstuff or the Muppets. This show was on circa 1981 (or thereabouts.)

Trust me when I tell you it was definately the GREAT SPACE COASTER! That was my favorite show to watch before school when I was a kid.

I remember watching that show. I loved Gary Gnu! Can't remember the other characters names though.

Gary Gnu was indeed on the "Great Space Coaster" The show aired from 1981-1986. It was a half hour series that featured songs and stories for children presented by three humans and several life-size animal figures. Emily Bindiger as "Francine",Chris Gifford as "Danny",Ray Stephens as "Roy". Kevin J. Clash as "Gordiddle Gorilla",John Lovelady as "Knock Knock the Bird"and "Edison the Elephant"and Jim Martin as "M. T. Promises" and "GARY GNU"!
