Does anybody program under Windows? Such as C, C++, or VB? I have been programming in DOS for a long time, but was never really good at Windows.

My target is C/C++, since I haven't used basic since... 89 or so, and I have no desire to pick it up again.

So before I fire off any more questions, is anybody here any good at Windows programming? I don't mean can you write your own 3D engine, but even basic dialogs, taking input, etc?

Not really. I dallied about with VB for a while, but just didn't care for the whole "visual" end of it. I always just preferred opening Notepad and writing batch files. Seemed more straight forward to me. Although... I do have a friend who swears religiously by C++. I have thought about taking a class in it to try and get a feel for whether I would like it or not.

So for a more straight forward answer to your question - No. I do have a pretty awesome book on VB though, so if you have a question I could probably look up an answer for you.
